We're happy as a clam (or oyster) this Monday because it marks two weeks until oyster season officially begins here in Louisiana! So when exactly IS oyster sea...son? Some call it a tall-tale, but we call it tradition. Here in NOLA, we believe oysters are best enjoyed during months with an "R" in the spelling (September - April). Yes, you can order oysters from some of your favorites like Drago’s, Neyow’s, and Felix’s year-round, but there's nothing better than a dozen chargrilled in-season Have you ever tried oysters? How do you take them? Raw, chargrilled, or fried? Let us know below! : CarlasKitchen_ (Instagram)

Is there such a thing as too many lobster rolls? Right now it’s important to stay home and practice social distancing. We hope you’ll find our content entertaining, inspiring, or useful for a future trip.

During this time of uncertainty, trying to practice social distancing and being cautious to prevent the spread of COVID-19, it is understandable that people are choosing to stay home and away from crowds. As expected, volunteers are dropping out of group projects. The OC Food Bank has experienced a huge loss15 groups/520 volunteers canceled in one week. Unfortunately many vulnerable seniors in need in our community rely on these food packages every week. As of March 16th, we... need to package 33,000 food boxes by the end of April. 1,400 seniors need help daily. This is a call for action. Volunteers are needed! Please call or email us to schedule and confirm a volunteer shift. Staff and volunteers who are sick are asked to stay home, and we are doing our best to keep the facility sanitized. This Monday morning our lines were out the door for people to pick up their food boxes. People are scared. The grocery store shelves are bare and people are looking for ways to secure food. If you’d like to help but cannot volunteer, you can also donate today to help us provide food to those in need. Every $1 donated can provide 4 meals: www.ocfoodbank.org. Thank you so much.
