Yalla student-athletes are making their mark on El Cajon! Andy and Osama were recognized today by the City of El Cajon for their acceptance into the prestigious Global Citizens Initiative Youth Summit this summer in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Andy and Osama will attend the event on full scholarships, and develop leadership skills they will use as local and international leaders. On Wednesday, our stellar goalie, Nancy, was named El Cajon Youth of the Year by Mayor Bill Wells. Nancy's teacher, Mr. Wertz gives her a great intro and after Nancy thanks the people who helped to mentor her into becoming a great #asbstudent and #communityleader, the Mayor lead us in a round of applause for Nadia, Nancy's mom. #yoamoyalla #collegeisthegoal #yallasd #emeraldmiddleschool
