HEALTHY CAESAR SALAD Ingredients... 1 cup spinach 4 oz grilled chicken breast, sliced 1 tbsp parmesan cheese 1 tbsp low-fat Caesar salad mixed with 1 tbsp olive oil Directions Spinach already comes in individual leaves, so you don't have to worry about ripping it apart in the morning when you're pressed for time. Grill some chicken over the weekend and freeze it to increase the simplicity of preparing a lunchtime salad. Add chicken to the spinach before going to work. In a separate container, mix the low-fat Caesar salad dressing with olive oil. NUTRITION FACTS Serving Size (1) Recipe yields 1 Amount per serving Total Calories 266 Fat 19 g Carb 1 g Protein 26 g This is a much better option than plain Caesar salad dressing, which is typically high in saturated fat. Nutrition FAQ’s Your Burning Questions Answered! Q How can eating six meals per day actually help me lose fat? A It doesn’t make sense, right? Everyone thinks if you want to lose fat you go on a diet, you eat less. Frankly that’s baloney. And it’s... dangerous. There are three reasons why eating frequently, in the range of five to six small meals per day, helps you lose weight. First, smaller meals are less likely to be stored as fat. Second, frequent meals help stabilize blood sugar levels and control insulin. This insulin control helps you stay in a fat burning state. Lastly, every time you eat, your metabolism is raised (meaning you use up more food as energy) due to a process called thermogenesis. Thermogenesis is simply the name for the process of your body burning calories during the digestion process. That’s right, it takes energy (calories) to digest food. So eating itself is like getting a mini-workout on the inside without all the sweating and groaning. experience results. Q:So what about carbohydrates, I thought carbs make you fat? A:There are good carbs and bad carbs. There are also carbs that fit somewhere in the middle. Bad carbs are highly processed and refined. This would include things like the refined flour found in cake, traditional pancakes, regular tortillas, white bagels, etc. These carbs elicicit a large insulin spike in the body and are easily converted to fat. These are called high glycemic index type carbohydrates. The carbs I recommend you eat are predominantly gluten free whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. In addition, you’ll always be combining your carbs with protein sources when you eat. The protein diminishes the negative insulin-spiking effect of carbs. The lean proteins, combined with the fibrous carbs you’re eating will minimize or eliminate any negative effects of the whole grains and fruit. Phew! What a mouthful!

How did Xtreme Fit take on a life of its own? And what about THF? THF will always be THF. Xtreme Fit is an entirely different entity. We will build on it because I believe it is the foundation of where it all begins. It is the hardest step in the process. Making the choice to go from couch potato to exercising. It is scary. And most people talk themselves out of it. And the choice to lose weight. It is hard. And it takes a lot of SUPPORT & PUSH to succeed at it. It takes peop...le believing in you. So It really has just taken on a life of its own. It started with a seed planted while watching Fit to Fat to Fit. And realizing that most trainers really don't have any concept of what its like. Just how hard the struggle can be. And how lost most people feel when they think about wanting to lose weight & get healthy. Then one day, I was working out in the gym and I saw this girl. Probably in her late 20's and very over weight. For one, I was so proud of her for being there and trying. But then I felt bad for her because she looked so lost & defeated. She jumped from machine to machine, barely getting any reps in and not sure how to use most. But she was there!! But I felt bad because I saw that she wanted it. She was there making the effort. But there was no way was she going to hit her goals doing what she was doing. I wanted to reach out to her and help her. Take her by the hand & say "Let's Do This". So after watching a few more episodes of Fat to Fit and having people like her in the back of my mind and wanting to help them. Xtreme Fit came to life. And hopefully they will find their way to me so that I can help them.

Then in my late 20's I started to gain weight after going on Depo Provera. I gained almost 80lb over about 5 years. I went from 139 to 212 average...and even hit 224lb!! I remember the tears because nothing fit. And the tears because I didn't like what I saw in the mirror. I remember NEVER being able to find clothes that fit. And having to use baby powder on my inner thighs to avoid chub rub wearing swim shorts. Something HAD to change. So I sought out a trainer.. And I never looked back. I was hooked. I knew this was my calling. I wanted to change lives. I wanted to help people..women especially feel better about themselves. To feel empowered. To feel alive. To believe in themselves. Why spend $120 a month to train outdoors? Well for starters what are you worth? What is your mental, emotional & physical health worth? Boot Camps that offer less average $200 a month. Why outdoors? Health & Body Image IS NOT about being SKINNY!! SKINNY is NOT healthy either. Being FIT & HEALTHY is. There is no magic number. It is about a healthy BODY FAT % that is more then a # on the scale. Being FIT & HEALTHY is also how you feel when you look in the mirror. It's about playing tag with your children wi...thout becoming out of breathe. It is about LIVING YOUR LIFE. Being HAPPY with what you see & how you FEEL. Losing weight is HARD. It is NOT an easy journey. If it were then everyone would be in top notch shape. But losing weight & body fat IS a much easier journey when you have someone to encourage you, motivate you & stand by your side telling you that you CAN do it. As a trainer...I will be that for you.
