Very exciting news for Yolo County! Yolo Healthy Aging is so proud to be a partner in the planning and advocacy for the important expansion of Yolo Adult Day Health. After much work by Dawn Myers and her Dignity team and Supervisor Provenza as advocate on the county side, this is going to happen!

Although the arrival of the coronavirus in March seemed to slow things down, the Winters residents did not allow it to stand in the way of moving mountains for the community. Here are some of the top news headlines from 2020. Winters seniors take action There is no doubt about it, there is an active and thriving senior population in Winters. The Winters Senior Commission on Aging took their duty to serve the senior community seriously and dived into setting priorities in 2020 to update the 2018 version of the Winters Senior Resource Guide (including a Spanish version), forged collaborative relationships with other senior-focused agencies, efforts in emergency response planning for seniors, and bringing forth other recommendations to the City Council in regards to senior living facility projects, including the Blue Mountain Terrace Senior Apartments. In addition to the Winters Senior Commission on Aging, local seniors also took to the Council for the creation of a committee to assist with fundraising efforts for the upcoming Blue Mountain Senior Center (Winters Senior Center).

HOORAY! Today, we transitioned from the 2-day-a-week deliveries of frozen meals that we’ve had to do since Covid began, to 3 days a week delivering hot meals to... our folks! Hot food, prepared in our kitchen and delivered ready-to-eat, is just in time for the cooler weather of fall (whenever it arrives!). And another day of being able to greet our folks to alleviate some isolation is a definite plus! See more
