WVFD and CalFire 1192 mopping up a half acre fire this afternoon. Burn pile that got away from the owner. Though burning is authorized now, conditions are still marginal. Even mowed fields can burn under marginal conditions. Be safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

Today, Westport Volunteer Fire Department Chief Daniel Maxey accepted a $2500 donation from Mendocino County District Attorneys Office. The money for the donation came from restitution funds from illegal marijuana grows in Mendocino County
