This week we are honoring the birthday of ROBERT MONTGOMERY WATSON, Trail Finder of the Sierra. May 10, 1849. He taught Wendell T. Robie the route over the Sierra that is used today for the Tevis Cup Ride and the Western States 100-Mile Endurance Run. For these two men, we owe much gratitude.
As with every big project, it takes time to put all the pieces together. The Western States Trail Museum Board is steadily working to bring this vision into reality.
Recently, Bob Kelley of Bobcat Productions was able to capture this wonderful interview with two ultra running legends. Listen in as DOUG LATIMER and TIM TWIETMEYER talk about what the Western States Trail means to them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wc54XkQvSRQ
We are excited to be moving closer to having a physical location for our museum! We are in need of glass front display cases. Please let us know if you have one to donate??
