Woodland's Dinner on Main

Thank you to the City of Woodland for helping to promote Woodland local small businesses and their owners, like our board member, Rudy Peniche of Las Brasas Tacos & Salsas Woodland, CA. Check him out and some of our others when you are on northbound I-5, and remember to go out and grab some takeout from our local restaurants! They are depending on our community right now, more than ever.

YES! SOMETHING TO BE GRATEFUL FOR IN 2020. While 2020 has certainly been a challenging year for the country, we are grateful that in Yolo County, our community came together in a big way to help our... friends and neighbors that have been impacted by the pandemic. Instead of holding a dinner on Main Street this year, Yolo Delivers HOPE, sponsored by Woodland's Dinner on Main, was able to feed over 14,000 folks and help 12 regional restaurants in the process. A huge Thank You goes to Bob and Don Clark, owners of Clark Pacific Woodland. Our Yolo Delivers HOPE family meals program would not have been possible if it were not for their generous support. Clark Pacific loves this community and wanted to make sure our homebound seniors had warm and nutritious chef-prepared meals delivered by Meals on Wheels America. The Yolo Community Relief Fund was another valuable sponsorship partner of Yolo Delivers HOPE and we are so grateful that we could provide catered meals to our neighbors through the Yolo Food Bank’s distribution center. The demand for food and meals in our community continues to be critical. Genentech Corporation, the John & Eunice Davidson Trust, and the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, California were generous, as well, to support Yolo Delivers HOPE, along with Assemblywoman Cecelia Aguiar Curry, Tom and Meg Stallard, and the countless individual donations made by the community at large. Hats off to our incredible Dinner on Main restaurants! How many times have they pivoted with each new health mandate, laying off and hiring employees, and not sure if they could keep their doors open? They all love to cook for you so please include take-out dining from our local restaurants in the months to come. Special appreciation goes to professional photographer, Fred Greaves, for donating his talents and helping us promote Yolo Delivers HOPE! When children are educated in how their food grows, they are more apt to eat healthy veggies. That is a big part of why we created our Woodland’s Edible Learning Garden. A large portion of our Dinner on Main proceeds go to maintaining our garden and education.
