So grateful to be a part of #familymealsacramento, a program that has feed thousands of Sacramentans and inspired @gavinnewsom’s statewide @greatplatesdelivered program bringing local farms and restaurants together to feed our at-risk seniors. Boxes going out this weekend: Breakfast - Banana-Berry Overnight oats with fresh blueberries and Golden Delicious apple. Lunch - Orzo salad with pomodoraccio vinaigrette, Del Rio Botanical arugula, feta, cucumber, olives and piquill...o peppers with multigrain Sun Chips and White Peaches from @twinpeaksorchards Dinner - Pulled pork sandwich with apple cider slaw and dill potato salad. Dessert - Local Lodi cherries from MNC Farms with a brown butter blondie.

For our last Friday & Saturday night of curbside pick up (if you missed it, see our last post for what we’ll be up to for the next few months), we brought back the crowd favorite in a family meal. COUNTRY FRIED CHICKEN - 8 pieces of crispy buttermilk chicken, served with macaroni and cheese, cornmeal biscuits, salad and dessert for $35. Plus, of course we’ll have ribs, pizza, burgers! Dear Woodlake Tavern Friends & Family- These are unprecedented times for our country and the world. The hospitality industry on a global scale has suffered greatly during this pandemic. We have all been tasked with difficult choices; how to keep our businesses afloat, our staff working safely, and our families sheltered at home. For over three years now, Woodlake Tavern has been a beacon of prosperity in North Sacramento, serving our brand of craft & comfort. We have held thi...s responsibility with a pronounced sense of pride and have reveled in serving our neighbors in the community. However, at this time a far more urgent mission is in front of us that we cannot ignore or watch from the sidelines. There are literally thousands of senior citizens in our community who are growing in food insecurity during this pandemic. Several factors make it increasingly unsafe for seniors to venture to grocery stores and restaurants for their meals. Many of our elders have pre-existing conditions and live alone making it extremely difficult for them to feed themselves. Elizabeth-Rose and I have decided that for the next several months (or as long as this pandemic lasts), feeding our community in crisis will be our sole mission. We will be joining Governor Newsom, Mayor Steinberg, and a host of other restaurants in Sacramento in the #GreatPlates Initiative. Taking care of each other has never been more important, and we are grateful for the honor to do so. It is with an extremely heavy heart that we have decided to close Woodlake Tavern for take-out service after this Mother’s Day weekend. When this crisis has passed, we will reopen our cherished Woodlake Tavern and see you all once again! We are in this together - and together we are capable of so much. CHANGE OF HOURS Hi neighbors! We are changing our hours this week. We will be open for curbside pickup and delivery through our delivery partners on Friday and Saturday from 4-8pm only. In a continued effort to navigate the mandated closures and to give back to our communities, we will spend more time building meals for our Family Meal and Buy a Meal, Give a Meal programs that both help to feed the hungry in Sacramento. Weekend pre orders and same day orders are of course still welcome, and we look forward to seeing you on Friday & Saturday nights!
