Congratulations to our Woodlake Lions Rodeo Stock Contractor, Flying U Rodeo Company, and their horse, Lil Red Hawk, for winning Round 6 of the NFR Bareback Riding!! Cole Reiner rode her to the win, and one of our rodeo’s pick-up men, Bronc Boehnlin, was onstage to accept the gold buckle at tonight’s Gold Buckle Ceremony! Paul Lira Dec 13, 1955 - Nov 11, 2020 Paul Lira, or Paulie to those who knew him well, was born to Paul and Mary Lira on December 13, 1955, and went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, November 11th. Woodlake Lions Club is hosting a drive-thru dinner fundraiser to benefit our fellow Lion, Paul Lira, on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 4-6 p.m. at the Woodlake Community Center. Dinner will include a tri-tip dinner plate, and tickets are $12 each. The Woodlake Lions Club lost our fellow Lion, Paul Lira, last week... We will miss him deeply, and he has left a hole in our lives. We are thankful for the years of friendship with Paul, and we are blessed to have worked beside him as he gave tirelessly to the community of Woodlake and our club’s events. A Memorial Service will be held for Paul Lira at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 28th at the Woodlake Lions Rodeo Grounds at 3pm. Social distancing will be enforced. Paul’s service will be held in the style of a drive-in movie, you will be directed where to park and will stay in your vehicle. A radio transmission will be provided so you can listen on your vehicle radio.

Eat at the Woodlake Drive-In today and help support our local community members! 15 percent of today’s proceeds will be donated to the Woodlake High School’s Key Club for their annual Turkey Fundraiser!

Despite the majority of California rodeos having been canceled this year, 2020 Miss Woodlake Lions Rodeo, Macie Kulikov, has still been busy in the equine indus...try and making the Woodlake Lions Club proud! She’ll be headed to Texas in a couple of months to compete in Pole Bending at the Junior World Finals after qualifying in Utah, and she spent last week assisting the show management team at the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity! Her initiative and hard work are qualities to be commended in a rodeo queen!! See more

In light of the changing events in the Three Rivers area, if you or someone you know is evacuating livestock, the Woodlake Lions Rodeo grounds will remain open tonight for animals. Please call us ahead at 559-564-8555.

The Woodlake Lions Rodeo grounds is accepting larger livestock animals being evacuated from fires within Tulare County, however, please contact Tulare County Animal Control directly for proper placement by calling 559-636-4050 or 559-679-6222. For donations, please contact Woodlake Growers Supply at 559-564-2124.
