The Natural History Museums of Los Angeles County have announced that our Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, La Brea Tar Pits and Museum, and William S. Hart Museum will close to the public beginning this Saturday, March 14, until further notice. All scheduled events and programs through Friday, April 10 will be cancelled or postponed. Our employees at all three of our museums will be transitioning to multiple work arrangements, with some working on site and some w...orking remotely. The #NHMLAC is committed to provide support for our employees while strongly embracing our community in these difficult times during this period. For additional information, including Ticket Reservations or Research and Collections, please visit http://nhmlac.org/covid19.
The William S. Hart Museum remains closed due to COVID-19. While L.A. County Public Health has entered Phase 3 of the Roadmap to Recovery, our Museum is slowly welcoming back staff and planning for new health and safety protocols. Please email us at [email protected] to be the first to know when we will safely re-open to the public.
#NHMLAC's Research & Collections team is committing to taking June 10 to #ShutDownSTEM. It is not business as usual. We are taking the time today to educate ourselves, talk to others, and brainstorm in our teams about what anti-Black racism work looks like in our respective STEM fields and in museums.
In solidarity with Black Lives Matter, we are pausing this #BlackoutTuesday to honor and enact a day focused on community involvement to confront and someday end systemic racism and anti-Black racism. We, the #NHMLAC, stand with the Black community and commit to be museums where everyone is seen, heard, represented and respected.

So much of William S. Hart’s character comes through in the #HartMuseum’s design and décor, his body of films, and his 11 books. But what kind of gamer was he? https://bit.ly/GamerAtHart
At the #HartMuseum, there are movie props from the 1920s, authentic Native American artifacts, and an impressive collection of western-themed art. And then, there are the animals: http://bit.ly/HartAnimals Discover more from our Museums with #NHMLAC Connects: http://nhmlac.org/connects
