Someone once told me that I had more Black and Gray Ed Hardy tattoos than anyone else. I remember Ed Telling me this was the only all black and gray Harley Davidson back piece he had ever done. Ed was known for very large body pieces with beautiful color. When he started tattooing my ribs he had every intention of coloring the tattoos on the girl I said no. After tattooing the girl he said ok we will color the background. I said no.Same thing happened on the other ribs. So by... the time we got to my back he knew there was not going to be any color in it. He was by far one of the fastest tattooist I had ever seen, he had done all of this in just 5 days. Always putting everything in to whatever he was working on. After the last session I was experiencing a little bit of fever and had some tremors. Ed told me it was just my body dealing with all the skin damage that was done. I had been eating very healthy and taking a lot of vitamins (everything they would give a burn victim) to help me prepare for so much work at one time. My tattoos would peel and be almost healed after only five day. Ed told me he had organized a traditional celebration for the completion of my back piece at the Japan center In San Francisco. We had a very traditional dinner with about 15 other people with body suits he had done. I can’t tell you how truly honored I felt being with these people. I had never had sashimi before or sat on the floor while eating. Of course everyone had a big laugh when I ate a large hunk of wasabi thinking it was guacamole. After dinner we all went to party at a Japanese clothing-option bathhouse in Japantown. I could not go into the hot tubs because of all the new tattoo work that was on me. I promised Ed I would never publish the photos I took while in bath house. When we left there we headed over to Bill Salmon’s apartment and partied well into the night. Some of our close circle would call him Ed Don the Dog Hardy. He had a habit of sneaking things into our tattoos to see if we would notice A lot of Ed will always be with me, (not just because he did the majority of my tattoos) but because he was my mentor and had such a large impact on my life. With the permission of our governor and county health officials, (we are optimistic about re-opening on Friday, May 1st), we are now taking appointments. I have always felt Tattoo shops are ahead of the curve when it comes to preventing the transmission of diseases and maintaining a sterile environment. We have always had the highest sanitation standards. All of our artists have had blood borne pathogens + cross contamination training and are certified and licensed. We have 7... stainless steel sinks throughout the shop for hand washing. For the past 46 years we have been in compliance with the Public Health Department’s guide lines regarding work area and surfaces remaining clean and in a disinfected environment. Our sanitation solutions, which is used by all tattooist have the EPA has approval and is efficient against COVID-19. We have always been required to sanitize any and all equipment, including work stations, before and after each and every client. Every client will be asked to come in with a mask (or some type of face covering), and we ask that if you have been sick within the last 2 weeks (fever, cough, runny nose) please wait to schedule your appointment. We will be sanitizing front desk, credit card machine and all door handles every client. All necessary precautions and sanitation protocols approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Placer County Health Department will be followed. We will be working: by appointment only, allowing one client (with a mask on) in the shop per tattooist. We understand some people want to bring a support system with them and we have always welcomed friends of our valued customers to come in with them, however this is not the time to bring family/friends, and we will not allow then in the door. To make an appointment call 916 783-9090 (10am is the best time to call.) I check the answering machine every day.
