Happy Saturday!!! This beauty in the picture is Ms. Sarah, our Dance teacher and Performance Coach! Sarah Alice Burns, originally from Australia moved to the... city of angels ten years ago for her dance career. Her highlights include touring with Beyoncé + Jay-z, Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child Superbowl, as well as working with artists like Usher, Neyo, Brandy, Jane’s Addiction, Gwen Stefani, JLO, Hailee Steinfeld and so many more. Sarah is our movement and artist development coach, whether you need choreography lessons or simply how to perform, or even structuring your set for a gig. It doesn’t matter where you are in your career, Sarah can help bridge the gap. Hello, fam! Today we bring you Mr. Chris, our Brass, Woodwinds and Piano teacher! Chris Johnson is a gifted trombonist. He has performed, toured and record...ed with world-class artists such as Beyoncé, Jay Z, The Brandon Brown Collective, Clark Terry, Raphael Saadiq, Snoop Dogg, Solange Knowles, Jazmine Sullivan, Mary Mary, Ledisi, Jamie Foxx, Ice Cube, Jennifer Hudson, Ceelo Green, Monica, and Stevie Wonder to name a few. Chris began playing the trombone at age 11. He received his Bachelors degree in music performance from the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff and his Master of Music degree in jazz studies from Northern Illinois University. Chris is a high-demand trombonist in the Los Angeles area. He does recording session work, horn section arranging as well as touring. Chris also leads his own group, The Chris Johnson Experience, mainly performing private and corporate events. Today we are bringing a little about @chaneemusic Ms. Chaneé is one of our dear instructors here at WHAA, for both Voice and Piano! Chaneé is a multi-talented... singer, songwriter, actress, dancer, and all-round entertainer. She has had a love of music from a very young age. Her extraordinary musical talents were discovered by family and friends at the age of 3 years old. After realizing the strength in her voice at the age of 5, she immediately started performing with several different theater companies. Chaneé wrote her first song at the age of 7 and has since become an acclaimed songwriter. With phenomenal talent and several years of musical theater under her belt, she decided to attend Duke Ellington School of the Arts (Washington D.C.). In efforts to further her training as a well-rounded performer, striving for excellence in singing, acting, and dancing, Chaneé attended The University of the Arts (Philadelphia, PA) and relocated to Los Angeles, ready to take the world by storm. Chaneé can be seen on the new @netflix Original Series ‘Sing On’ as well as several Dove advertisements, including billboards, bus ads, and television commercials. Though featured in many other movies and television shows Chaneé continues to follow her first true love of music. Blessed to be a triple threat with a five-octave vocal range, Chaneé’s powerhouse voice is strong, rich and soulful. Her music conveys healing, celebration, and empowerment through songs about love, relationships, spirituality, moving forward, and having fun. Tonight we’re introducing Mr. Anthony, who is a Guitar, Piano and Music Production teacher here at WHAA!! Anthony Caulkins is a composer, guitarist, and mus...ic technologist based in the Los Angeles area. Through his compositions, Anthony explores questions relating to gesture, modularity, and metaphorical representation. Over his career as a composer, Anthony has developed a voice that focuses on both intricate systems and improvisatory practices. Along with composing, Anthony is a frequent performer of both written and improvised music. In the last few years, he has spent time exploring chamber music, free improvisation, and jazz guitar. Beyond this, Anthony is a frequent pit orchestra musician in the Los Angeles area. As a technologist, Anthony explores various modes of expression through the use of interactive computer systems for improvisation. Hello everyone! We have some new faces around here, as we’ve been busting with new projects and our regular classes it’s a joy for us to broaden our communit...y, and with that, we would like to little by little, introduce our team of teachers! We’ll start with Ms. Anna, who teaches piano, violin and dance! She has been with WHAA since 2016 as a music and dance instructor. At the age of 4, she began training in classical piano and violin. She later began training in hip-hop, jazz, and contemporary dance styles. She went on to choreograph and arrange dance production shows for her high school dance production team. While in college, she danced competitively in hip-hop, jazz, and pom styles.
