Why is Providing Temporary Shelters for the Homeless Important? There are a lot of homeless people in our society more than you think. The number keeps on increasing year by year. And because of this, we have developed a program that helps those homeless people find a place where they can live comfortably and start fulfilling their dreams. The following are some of the reasons why this is important: - It is one of the human’s basic needs... Just like food and clothing, a shelter is one of the man’s basic needs. Fulfilling this ahead of others will help people survive and live the life they want to live. - It is a place for safety and protection There is no better place where people can find true security and safety than the place they have lived. 3 Reasons Why We Care for the Homeless People We, at Warriors for Christ, have been helping a lot of homeless people over the years. The reasons why we care for these people are because of the following reasons: We want to help homeless people help themselves... We just don’t provide shelter for them, but we also help them become independent in meeting their needs. The shelter we provide for these people is just the starting point to achieving our goal. We assist them to help themselves so they can begin achieving their dreams and living the life they want. We have a vision of seeing a better community We simply want to see a community that lives harmoniously, where everyone has a place to live and a place to stay protected and safe. 3 Important Programs of Warriors for Christ We, at Warriors for Christ, have been successful at helping homeless people because of our various programs organized and helped by a lot of different people and benefactors. The following programs are important to our advocacy: 1 - Employment Support... Aside from offering a permanent shelter to live in, we also provide opportunities for them to have a steady source of income. We partner with various industries and companies that are willing to accept these individuals for the skills and experiences they have. 2 - Provision of medical services and equipment Through the partnership of various medical professionals, medical and dental checkups are conducted for these individuals. Because their health is also important to us, we offer medical assistance so that their health condition will be assessed and appropriate treatments will be given. 3 - Education assistance Tuition assistance, scholarship grants, book fees support, and learning enhancement programs are just some of the methods we use to assist these people with their education. We believe that through education, they can attain their dreams in life easily, achieve financial freedom, and be no longer homeless. Relief Operations in Times of Disaster Crisis Disasters can happen anytime without you knowing it. Calamities can cause homes to be destroyed, people to suffer from pain and depression, and a lot more! We, at Warriors for Christ, offer you our help in times of disaster crisis. Distribution of food... Food is a basic necessity. Therefore, our team will check on the victims to make sure that this need is being fulfilled. We distribute healthy food products needed by the body to help them get through crisis easily. Distribution of safe water It is hard to survive without water for many days. After the calamity, our team will distribute safe water to the victims so they can have something to replenish their body with and keep going. Distribution of medicine Many people get hurt during a calamity. However, not all of them can receive proper medical assistance for their condition.
