Wet Thumb Gardens

Picked up a number of corals today that will be ‘fragged’ and offered on-line.

Getting Spring Showers here in SoCal and many of my Aloes are very happy with the wet and cool weather. Here are all that currently have blooms / inflorescence

Fragged up a bunch of Birds Nest Corals

SPS Coral Mother System is now doing well with noticeable growth. Aside from APEX controlled and monitored Calcium and Alkalinity I am dispensing Coral Essentials

Today’s Acro Purchases. Their colors don’t show up very well while in the Coral Dip Box but once they are in the Mother Tank under the GHL Mitra’s they, and all the other corals, sure look pretty.

Fragged up a number of Toadstool Leather Corals. We spent four hours doing so and ended up with about 270 Frags.

Decided to ‘Frag’ the corals I bought today. Some Millipora, some blue tipped Acro’s, left a couple Acro colonies and yellow tipped pink Birdsnest alone. Finish mounting some red Montipora’s.

Water change day in the Fish, Invert, Frag, Mother and Grow Systems.

Spent the later part of the afternoon ‘fragging’ corals

Started fragging and adding corals to the new 500 gallon dual 8ft Coral Grow Tanks this evening. I spent 4 hours chopping and gluing. I’m guessing about 100 Frags, plus a bowl full of Capricornus that I ran out of plugs/pipe to glue to.

Started working on the Frag Rack, with some help... or should I say a thief. Placing number tags on the rack to create locations, or map points, to help define which corals are what.

Just about ready to start Farming / Fragging live corals. Both tanks are now plumbed, illuminated and the APEX Aquarium monitor / controller has been installed.

Almost finished with two items that will help me with Wet Thumbs new venture into growing live corals.
