West Valley Oral Surgery would like to welcome our newest surgeon... Dr Ryan Forney. Dr. Ryan Forney grew up right here in the San Fernando Valley and graduated from Chatsworth High School. He attended UC Santa Barbara where he received his degree in Pharmacology. After undergrad, he decided to trade in the west coast and sun for the cold and completed his Doctorate of Dental Medicine at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. After Dental ...School, Ryan enrolled in a 6 year dual degree OMFS program at Rutgers University in New Jersey. During his 6 year program, he also received his Medical degree from New Jersey Medical School. After completing his training, he has been working in a private practice oral surgery office in Santa Barbara prior to joining West Valley Oral Surgery. Dr. Forney has particular interest in dentoalveolar surgery, bone grafting and augmentation as well as dental implants. He also has extensive training in the treatment of TMJ, pathology, sleep apnea and full mouth reconstructive surgery. Dr. Forney has also received additional training while volunteering with Smile Bangladesh, an organization which provides cleft lip and palate surgery to children in need in the cities of Dhaka and Khulna. Beyond his education, he has been a presenter at the New Jersey Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons demonstrating the use of alloplastic joints and nerve grafting for facial reconstruction. In his free time, loves spending time with his wife, Kimberly, and their two children. He enjoys the outdoors, surfing, and weight training.

Dear valued colleagues and patients, As the current public health crisis progresses, we wanted to reach out to our referrals and patients and update you on the temporary changes taking place at West Valley Oral Surgery. We will remain OPEN Monday through Friday during the current crisis. However, we strongly believe it is in the best interest of our patients and our community to limit our patient care to only those with true emergencies. Our practice has defined this as any... patient who is experiencing swelling or pain that cannot be managed or controlled with pain medication and/or antibiotics. As the crisis and "Shelter at Home" order continues, patients that have been stable with pain medications and/or antibiotics can get worse. We advise that you contact us if your condition does not improve or your symptoms get worse. Please DO NOT not go to the Emergency Room. To better care for our patients and the wellbeing of our staff, we will be instituting enhanced safety precautions in the office while treating patients. All surfaces will be sanitized after every patient visit. We will only be scheduling one patient in the office at a time to minimize transmission risk and increase social distancing. We have installed H13 HEPA filter units in the waiting room, back office area and surgical suites to decrease aerosol and airborne particulates. The staff will be using enhanced PPE to minimize potential transmission risks to themselves and the patients. We appreciate the trust you place in us not only during this crisis, but every day.
