Dear WMS Families, By now, we've all seen the videos from around the world of entire communities connecting through song from their balconies. In times like these, it's evident that music can truly bring people together. Over the past two weeks, our staff has been working tirelessly to bring our lessons online using the Zoom video conferencing app so that we can continue to help bring the power of music to our students and their families. ... Our teachers will continue providing one-on-one lessons with their students and we will announce Theory Lab times where students may join in a video chat with any questions regarding their assignments. While we had hoped to reopen on March 30th, the state of California has been ordered to Shelter-in-Place for the time being. We will update you when we receive news as to when students may resume lessons at the school. As a small business, we would not have been able to do what we do for the past 40 years without the tremendous support of our community and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your patience and understanding during these uncertain times. Last week we introduced piano lessons through the Zoom video conferencing app. You may already be familiar with this platform because most schools and universities have already started using it for distance learning. Video conferencing platforms have long been used in music lessons as well. You will need internet connection and a smartphone, iPad, laptop, or desktop computer with webcam. A tripod and multiple devices would be ideal but not necessary. Please download the ZOOM ...CLOUD MEETING app on your device (or for a laptop/desktop, visit https://zoom.us). Our staff will be reaching out to students over the next week to schedule a time to help set up and log on. Dear Parents & Students, By now, you all should have received the following notice via text or email. We are moving our Spring Break to this week and will also be closed next week. As some of you may know, many schools and universities are using tools such as Zoom to continue online learning over the next few weeks. This type of learning has long been used for piano lessons as well, particularly in areas where extreme weather conditions do not allow for in-person lessons.... If this is of interest to you, please let us know. We will be posting more information regarding this option in the next few days. Thank you for all your support and understanding during these uncertain times. In the meantime, we hope music is offering our students another way to entertain themselves and stay busy!

Dear Parents/Students: Due to recent news regarding the CoronaVirus, we are taking extra precautions to help keep our staff and students healthy. Piano and computer keyboards will be wiped down with antimicrobial cloths after each lesson as well as frequently disinfected with alcohol as needed. Tables, chairs and door handles will be wiped down as well.... All students, please wash your hands with soap and/or use hand sanitizer before and after your lesson. Thank you for your cooperation. Vanessa Diep recently graduated Valedictorian of Brea Olinda High School and is a recipient of the 2019 National Guild of Piano Teachers High School Diploma. She will attend the University of California, Los Angeles as a political science major.

Tiffany Vo is a junior at Fountain Valley High School is a recipient of the 2019 National Guild of Piano Teachers High School Diploma in Social Music.

Kenneth Truong is a recent graduate of Woodbridge High School and a recipient of the 2019 National Guild of Piano Teachers High School Diploma. He will be attending California State Polytechnic University, Pomona as a Architecture major.

Beatrice Pham is a recent graduate of Rancho Alamitos High School and a recipient of the 2019 National Guild of Piano Teachers High School Diploma- Social Music. She will be attending the University of California, Berkeley as a Molecular and Cell Biology.
