I never thought I'd say it, but I am now a dog mama. I've always been a cat person, but the hubby and kids convinced me we should have a puppy. Well...I saw her, and it was at first sight. Doggone it, I'm ruined... I don't know how this gorgeous, sweet, and well-behaved girl was at a shelter for two weeks and not adopted. She must have known we were coming and was waiting for us. I have a craving and need to share it since I know it will go unfulfilled... As a kid, it was always a treat when my grandparents said we were going to Zim's. I recall being so excited as I planned my meal on the drive over. Would I have the Zimburger or lasagna with garlic bread? Or maybe the fish n' chips? As I got older and could eat more, I moved on to the Sourdough Zimburger and a chocolate shake. Oh, and always a side of fries. Damn, those fries! And don't forget the fr...ied chicken...I always preferred the drumettes with the crispy bit of batter on the ends and ranch dressing, but the regular fried chicken was good as well. Everything seemed so simple as a kid. Does anyone else remember Zim's? Please tell me I'm not the only one. If you don't remember Zim's (or never had the opportunity to try it), what's another restaurant that you loved as a kid?

The last couple of years have been particularly tough, replete with medical and other life challenges. This is my birthday month, and this year more than ever, I'm making my years lived count instead of counting the years! Every single day I pinch myself to remind me how blessed I am to have been given another year with my family, friends, and clients. I'm so grateful to have people like you in my life!
