Looking down at giant strands of kelp lying on the surface of the water. Appreciating the everyday miracles of sunshine, water, living things growing.

You either walk inside your story and own it or you stand outside your story and hustle for your worthiness. Brené Brown . What does it mean for you to "walk inside your story and own it?"

"If you let go a little, you will have a little peace. If you let go a lot, you will have a lot of peace. If you let go completely, you will know complete peace and freedom. Your struggles with the world will have come to an end." - Thai forest monk Ajahn Chah, from his book A Still Forest Pool

Feel the softness that comes into your body when you trust that all is unfolding in its own perfect way, that nothing that’s for you can get away from you. As you begin to rest, you cultivate trust: to know that your body-mind doesn’t lie; if you feel like you need rest, you do need rest. You trust that the wheel turns back around to cycles of higher energy in its own time. You trust that there will be enough time for everything that matters. More on the blog https://buff.ly/3lped7f

Frequently Asked Question: "What are your go-to practices? What do you do everyday?" . I don't tend to miss a day of meditation, stretching, and journaling. These are the practices that help me to feel connected to myself and how I'm doing, and that bring ease and wellbeing to my body, mind, and spirit. Do you love this nourishment too, or crave it? This Saturday: an appointment with YOU, to connect and turn inward with gentle movement, guided meditation, reflective writing. Join us! https://buff.ly/2YmCORk

Last night I could hear the waves crashing when I went to sleep, a surge coming through. A fun thing about living near the beach is how much it changes day to day, season to season the whole topography, the plants and animals that wash up on the beach, even the sand itself gets washed away and layers deeper are revealed. You can think you know this beach and the next day its whole personality is different. There’s a lesson here...

Oh how we need REST! The body is tight from sitting in a chair. The mind is foggy from work, soggy from screens. The spirit is clouded from the interactions and experiences of our days. Will you offer yourself a little rest today? For encouragement, see my latest blog post. https://buff.ly/3lped7f

"Training in equanimity is learning to open the door to all, welcoming all beings, inviting life to come visit. Of course, as certain guests arrive, we’ll feel fear and aversion. We allow ourselves to open the door just a crack if that’s all that we can presently do, and we allow ourselves to shut the door when necessary. Cultivating equanimity is a work in progress. We aspire to spend our lives training in the loving-kindness and courage that it takes to receive whatever appearssickness, health, poverty, wealth, sorrow, and joy. We welcome and get to know them all." - Pema Chodron

We’re in wild times. Anyone else find themselves doing things they haven’t done before? For me it’s playing a trumpet for the first time in 15 years... at the beach! What about you? Picked up any quarantine hobbies?

This conversation with Cain Carroll left me feeling newly inspired, and I hope that you will also find refreshment to start or deepen your own practice, not as something you *should* do, but as a means of caring for yourself, and with a curiosity about your experience that propels you onward. Listen here (https://buff.ly/3g3tPwt), or search for Flourish and Bloom Podcast on your favorite podcast app! . If you stick with it, your own intrinsic wisdom will become more clear, and your own knowing as to what it is that most deeply serves you will begin to express itself. A kind of change that’s undeniable and unstoppable will begin to strengthen and bubble up inside of you." - Cain Carroll

It feels like all my photos are of sunset these days the days are short, the evenings dark. This time of year can be difficult to adjust to... *and* the sunsets are beautiful.
