Unfortunately, we’re still temporarily closed even though #waxingsalons are just as safe if not safer than hair or nail salons. Thank you all for your continued support and encouragement. We hope to see you in the salon sometime soon. #saveoursalons #saveoursalonscalifornia #letuswax #opensalonsnow

If you agree that waxing salons can open safely in LA County, please help us be heard. Tag @cagovernor in the comments below. #saveoursalons The above letter reads: ............. On behalf of all the closed waxing salons and thousands of licensed and unemployed Estheticians in Los Angeles County, we are begging for the right to safely open waxing salons. While following all the new COVID-19 Industry Guidances from the State, waxing salons are just as safe, if not safer, than... the hair salons and medical spas that are allowed to be open. Following the new COVID-19 Industry Guidelines, a body waxing service usually takes thirty minutes and requires that the Esthetician and the client be in a private room. BOTH Esthetician and client have masks on and they do not have their faces close to one another the entire time. Medical Spas, which are currently open, are allowed to perform all kinds of services on the face such as Botox injections, laser treatments, and even hours-long face lifts. All these services are done with only the service provider wearing a mask while the client is necessarily mask-less. They are also standing with only inches between their faces. Similarly, hair salons are open and require much closer face-to-face contact than body waxing does. Our top priority is the health and safety of our community which is why we have been quietly closed for since March. However, it is apparent that we CAN open safely now. In fact, both Orange County and San Francisco have allowed their waxing salons to open. Our small businesses are failing and our staff is truly suffering with financial hardship. Unemployment benefits are not enough to live on in Los Angeles County and there are no jobs for Estheticians while salons are required to be closed. Please save the waxing salons before they unnecessarily close their doors for good.

Yes, LA County still requires waxing salons to be temporarily closed. We don’t know when we’ll be able to open again, but we’ll post about it here. Thank you for your continued patience and support.
