This past Monday (24), at our Washington Hospital Service League annual meeting and luncheon, Laura was recognized for 65 (!) years of volunteering. She started volunteering for us in 1955, spending three years raising money through Service League rummage sales prior to the Hospital opening in 1958. CONGRATULATIONS to Harsimrat Kaeley, who is one of this year's recipients of the Douglas Gallacher M.D. Memorial Scholarship! Dr. Gallacher was a radiologist with Washington Radiology Medical Group for 27 years. This scholarship is awarded by his family and made available to graduating high school students in the District and children of WHHS employees. Harsimrat is the son of Kiranjit Kaeley, a certified case manager who works in the new Morris Hyman Critical Care Pavilion in telemetry. She has been a Washington Hospital employee for 11 years. Harsimrat now heads to UC Irvine where he will study computer science. He is passionate about the environment and robotics. We wish him all the best!
