Vtwin Thunder Service and Repair

Leo called me and said his engine seized in his 94 FXR.....NOT a good thing! Get the bike to the shop and tore down the top end of the engine. FUGLY is the correct descriptive here! So, I told him his options....including getting a new turn key S&S motor. He decided to have me salvage his engine to keep the numbers in-line. But then he stopped by the shop and saw my 89 FXR and now his engine has morphed into a 89ci stroker. I stripped the engine and install new crank, connecting rods, Main bearing races in case....line honed to .0005" tolerance, S&S jugs, super stock heads, Pistons, 585 lift cam ...... ect. This baby is gonna be a runner!

Laurie Brought me her sweet 2007 Dyna Low Rider for a new battery and oil. We could all take a lesson from her! Old battery is 4 yrs old but still cranks hard and charges up but she knows the battery is the heart of the system and changes it on a schedule whether it needs it or not. Good girl! {:>)

Joaquin Brought me his Victory Vegas Cory Ness edition woefully low on power. Fearing the worst I told him most likely it's just dried cracked seals in the in-tank fuel injector pump spraying gas inside the tank leaving no pressure to operate injectors. Yup, Pump works just fine. Replace a few obvious bad seals and the Vic runs like a raped ape again! New front tire to boot and he's another happy Vtwin Thunder customer

David stopped by with his 2006 Ultra Classic complaining about poor performance. Without even looking I told him his in-tank fuel injection pump hoses have sprung a leak causing fuel pressure to fall. Opened up the fuel cap and stuck a camera probe into the tank. Turned on the key and flipped the kill switch and watched fuel spraying inside the tank. Replaced the split hoses and she's back running strong again. David's a happy Vtwin Thunder customer!

on HER birthday my wife got me a custom Harley FXR as a project bike to add to the Vtwin Thunder stable. Owner had started customizing but could not finish it. It'll be bad-ass when I get done with it! {:>) Thanks Patty! YOu are the BOMB!

Kudos to Harbor Freight Tools! I went online to find #68512 XL nitrile disposable gloves I use in my shop (down to 1/2 box) and they are not on the website. So I called the local store. Harbor Freight has donated their entire supply of Hardy nitrile disposable gloves to First Responders. OK I can "Live" with that! {:>)

Vtwin Thunder aquires another work station! (black lift in the back) My customers must love me. A local Gold Wing customer had a pneumatic lift sitting in his carport and gave it to me! A few minor repairs and lots of cleaning and it works perfectly. AND it's 13" longer than my other lift of the same type (foreground right) it'll hold choppers with extended forks! Both of These style lifts are "portable" in that I can roll around the shop even loaded with a bike. Thank you Carter, This will really help me out {:>) Now I am a three chair shop!

Business as unusual Just a note that I will remain open during this corona virus pandemic. I am the only one in my shop so I am isolated better than most.....even better than at my home! However, I will not be allowing anyone into the shop and I will be disenfecting bikes that come in and go out for both our protection. And those that know me know that I wear nitrile or nitrile coated gloves when working on bikes. THe rest of my building has been vacated. Classic! This 1989 Electra Glide Ultra Classic was buried in a garage for 15 years. The owner passed away and left it to his son who contacted me about reviving it. This sweet ride has every bell and whistle that HD had at the time. Console CB w/ under-trunk transciever, AM/FM/cassette player, Real cruise control on the carburator (Not a throttle lock), ect.... Replaced all the rotted hoses, Rebuilt NASTY carb, flushed all fluids, Got rid of the mouse turds on the battery ... New battery too BTW (lol), inspected for mouse damage, Pumped out the crankcase (full of oil that had settled past the check valve over the years), and whatta ya know, IT"S ALIVE! Runs great. If it wasnt for 21 years of typical scratches and dinks it would be in showroom condition. Love it!
