12’ floating quarter sawn walnut bench installed and ready for cozy dinner parties. I couldn’t believe the amazing flawless walnut I sourced from @moorenewtonhardwoods to build this bench. It was a fun build, and a great addition to that walnut kitchen we did in Sausalito this year.

This walnut kitchen I haven’t shared many pictures of in awhile has finally reached completion last week. Pretty stunning material composition. 13 sheets of custom 10’ walnut veneers made from one log make up all the fronts, and give that nice continuous wrap from the lowers to uppers.

BIG deal job for a repeat client has been in the design phase the past few months, and soon we’ll be cutting wood. Couldn’t be more excited to be working with some of the best in the biz: @jeffschlarb @plathandcompany and seeing Vorrath Woodworks sign next to theirs on the home makes me proud! (Even if it’s 4 stories up and you have to zoom in to read it, haha) We will have cabinetry and furniture going in on every floor of this pristine Pacific Heights Victorian. Having @gregdlaird and @danielzenefskifurniture on board makes a project this big possible!

I made this mailbox for @thekrenovschool (College of the Redwoods Fine Woodworking program back then) my first year there in 2011. It’s built with mahogany I dragged all the way to California with me from a job I had on a brownstone in NYC, and some local tan oak. @toddshopslavesorenson just sent me this picture of it today after he did some glue repairs, and fixed her up for more years of service. This is one of things I’ve built that’s closest to my heart. Love to hear fellow elephants are looking after it. #440alger #woodworking #krenovschool #dovetails

Cozy breakfast nook is complete. One project begets another; now I need a trestle dining table(already working on the design) strange days have given me more space to work on my own home.
