Most recently, VMECH has attached Clemens leafers to the Tool Carrier. We understand the importance of a machine needing to have a variety of capabilities to remain productive throughout the different seasons. In this video, we have 4 leafers attached to de-leaf both sides of the canopy on two rows. Given that many growers only de-leaf one side of the canopy, we are capable of incorporating the Clemens rollover mount on the Tool Carrier as well to maintain de-leafing one side of the canopy AND two rows in a single pass. Cheers!!

"The first rule of any technology used in a business is that automation applied to an efficient operation will magnify the efficiency." - Bill Gates Another successful demonstration in the books - magnifying the efficiency of what's to come! This is our second year conducting mechanized shoot thinning with the help of Cornell University's Efficient Vineyard team and E&J Gallo. Our overall goal is to find solutions to the ever-increasing cost of vineyard labor in conjunction with the technologies of tomorrow. Continuous innovation remains our top priority and we are here to help. Cheers!

The Vmech tractor mount at work. Placement of the shafts vertically allows for de-suckering the trunks, while adjusting the shafts horizontally allows one to crown-sucker the cordon area OR shoot-thin the canopy based on height position. Getting the job done! Cheers!

The VMECH Tool Carrier at work. We have our cordon brush shoot thinning heads attached on the machine to manage growth within the vines. Here, we are aiming to reduce 30% of growth to reach the target shoot count. If we want to increase the amount of shoot removal, we increase speed of the brushes or raise the entire brush drive higher in the canopy. Vice versa for decreasing the amount of shoot thinning. Overall, our goal is to remove any extraneous shoots to produce a better fruiting zone. Demos are welcomed, please feel free to reach out for more details.
