Tim Lane: Boardmart Redding Store Guru/Manager We are Downtown Redding: The people who enhance Downtown through their work, dedication, and character. Redding Residents are lucky to have year-round opportunities to board on concrete, water, and snow. If you are searching for the perfect equipment look no further than Boardmart. Tim Lane manages the Boarding side of the Downtown Store. Lane explains if you need help, Just say, Hey Tim! For all these years it has always been... Hey Tim. Lane, an avid world traveler, has been to 17 different countries in Europe, traveled for six weeks through Northern India, has been to 42 out of the 50 States and has explored 40 U.S National Parks out of the 63. Lane shares, Travel is about pilgrimage and that pilgrimage is mostly internal. It is about exposing your life to new people and experiencing different cultures. I love reading about other countries and you can read everything but at some point you need to experience it. Lane shares that, If you have traveled and come back to Redding you realize this is an amazing place. The spring and fall here is my favorite season. Both those seasons you can hit the powder in the morning and then board on the lake in the afternoon. Days are longer and you can stay out later. Advice for potential Board Riders: The easiest board to pick up is Snowboarding, especially when there is fresh powder, and the sun is peaking out. It is a friendlier experience to start with. Wake Boarding and Skateboarding are great, but if you fall off a Snowboard it will not hurt THAT bad. Everyone can slide down a hill, even on your rear. You are going to have a smile on your face and will avoid potential road rash. Favorite thing to do (when he is not at work): I ride bikes a lot. I am not super artistic, but I like woodworking and building stuff. I have built surfboards, remodeled a house by myself, I weld art and I read a ridiculous amount for pleasure and knowledge. What’s Important: There are some amazing places I have traveled to, and I hope more people get to experience those places. Travel is about sharing and exposing yourself to new things and motivates your life in a positive way. I sell snowboards for a living; I do this because these boards will put a smile on your face. We sell fun here, that is important to realize.
