Start of the brow rehab process. First we balance them as best as possible without making them too thin. And then each visit we make them thicker and thicker. There is NO tweezing allowed in between appointments. Her brows look thicker already just from being shaped.

Proud of my business and family for fighting to get us safely up and running! Did you guys know Maribou is my family’s business? . My aunt started Maribou about 15 years ago with a friend and then took over as the sole owner a few years later. I worked there from year 1 as a receptionist in high school and on and off through college breaks. My mom (Shawna to you all) hit the ground running from day 1 as their amazing supervisor. My Grampa was in charge of the banking and my G...ramma was in charge of the inventory. My little cousins used to always be there visiting. And then the Chelsea ended up working there in high school. . Then when my aunt’s husband (my uncle since I was 3) retired from his career, he took over the business management side of Maribou. I received my B.A. from UCSB with no intention of continuing my salon life. Until I graduated and had a couple years to think about my career opportunities. I started pursuing my new dream of being an esthetician and playing my new role in the family business. . I have watched Jill and Larry (what I call them in a professional environment) - aka Aunty and Uncle - build and grow their business from the start. They have worked hard, overcome so many obstacles, learned and grown as business owners, and inspired others in the industry by leading through kindness, reaching out to others, and setting a stellar example. *Our governor could take a page out of their leadership book* . As much as I worry about my own career, I am 10 times more anxious about what is happening to Maribou. To my family. My dad had a small panic attack because he as a firefighter was the only one in our family earning a paycheck during the quarantine and wasn’t sure how to keep all 12 of us afloat if need be. I have the utmost faith in their ambition and experience and grit. But at the same time they are taking a beating. And it’s not a fair fight. . Thank you to everyone who has continued to support Maribou, my family’s business, through all this mess. See more
