Vista Hills Chorus

Love music? Love to sing? Want to explore a fun, new creative outlet? Melody or harmony, high or low, there's a home for you on the risers of the Vista Hills Chorus. Come check us out every Tuesday night at 7:00 pm!... 926 2nd Street, Encinitas What we do: We start with physical warm-ups at 7:00, followed by vocal warm-ups. Then we do our musical rehearsal. The content of our rehearsal varies based on our upcoming events. Near the end, we have a short business meeting and conclude around 10:00 PM; sometimes later if we are getting ready for a performance or competition. What to wear: Casual clothing and comfortable shoes...we stand on risers for most of the evening. Don't fear, if you can't stand for long periods of time, you can always sit down. What to bring: Bring plenty of water to drink and a pencil to take notes. Tips: Please don't wear heavy perfume or hairspray. When we stand on the risers, the fragrances can make those standing around you uncomfortable. We also try to limit talking while we are on the risers so we get the most out of our rehearsal time. Another wonderful Zoom rehearsal was had last Tuesday evening. We had lots of singing, lots of chatting, and we had our first guest join us virtually. Welcome Marilyn!!! It was so nice meeting you and we are looking forward to you visiting us again! #vistahillschorusstrong

This past Tuesday, we had the installation of our new Management Team Officers for my chorus, and that usually involves a dinner somewhere with a special guest who comes in and performs the ceremony. Well, thanks to Mr. Covid, we couldn't do that but we did the next best thing and Zoomed it. Our special guest is a dear friend to me and quite a few members of our chorus, Kathy Mayer Whelan, and she did a wonderful job with what little she had to work with. It was on Cinco ...de Mayo, so we all had our Mexican themed meals, beverages, and some festive decor, and had our little Fiesta with a lot of laughs. Thank you so much, Kathy, for a fabulous evening... and I can wait to see my fellow chorus members in person and give you all a big squeeze!!! #vistahillschorusstrong Coronavirus isn't holding us back!!! This upcoming Tuesday would have been our last Tuesday night rehearsal (friends and family guest night) before heading to Phoenix for regional competition. While we are all very sad that this event was cancelled, we are grateful for the opportunity to keep our community safe and healthy. This next Tuesday, we will be trying out our first virtual rehearsal via Zoom. Isn't it so great that we can still get together to rehearse!!
