Reading can be such a simple act but so meaningful for children. We are able to share and explore feelings, places and new concepts to children through those pages. However, we can expand the experience through simple story time. Listening to a story helps to build a foundation for language development and a great way to just bond with your child. Here are a few suggestions to help make story telling more fun with or without a book. -Use many gestures and different inflecti...ons to help set the mood or express feelings. -Invite your child to say something or add to the story context. -Be flexible. You do not have to read every page of the book, make up your own story lines to continue to build interest into the story. -Make up stories with you child as the focus. Children love to hear fantastic adventures about themselves. -Children enjoy listening to the same books and stories many times, use books that have a sequence to the story line. As your child becomes familiar with the sequence ask them what will happen next, or pause to allow them to finish the line. See more

Build a house of cups using plastic cups and bowls in your home, allow your child to stack and create a building with those materials. The different sizes and shapes will help to teach balance. The buildings are also great for target practice with soft objects.

We have been dealing with crazy wind at home and I'm sure you have as well. Sometimes our little ones don't understand what the wind is or how it works. Here is a soft song you can sing with your child to help make the wind a fun part of the day! I See the Wind Original Author Unknown (Tune: Hush Little Baby)... I see the wind when the leaves dance by. (Wave hands in front of body.) I see the wind when the clothes wave "Hi!" (Wave hello.) I see the wind when the trees bend low. (Put arms over head and bend to the side.) I see the wind when the flags all blow. (Stand up and wave arms above head.) I see the wind when the kites fly high. (Stretch arms up high.) I see the wind when the clouds float by. (Put arms down and wave hands gently.) I see the wind when it blows my hair. (Lift hair with hands.) I see the wind 'most everywhere! (Hold hands out with palms up.) See more

Something easy and fun to keep them busy through the weekend! Using only a paint brush and water, let your child paint things around them. They can paint a fence, an exterior wall or even the concrete ground. The paint seems to be magic as it disappears on its own!

After a busy day, here is a short and sweet story to help your little one relax. We often play this before bath time to start our night time routine. https://youtu.be/xPb0aiogg7I
