A mural was drawn by Donna Nguyen in front of our main office to commemorate Mr. Kato. Everyone is welcomed to come and write or draw a message in any of the blank balloons. Some chalk is provided but you can bring your own as well. Please tag Donna Nguyen Vinci Park Elementary and US for all messages written. Would love to see it filled up. And let’s make it happen before the rain comes. ... RIP Mr. Kato. Your legacy will live on through all your students.

In honor of our beloved Steve Kato, Ms. Simpson created a shirt fundraiser in his name. You can view the shirts on the link below. Anyone who purchase shirts over the next two weeks will have the shirts delivered directly to their homes. All proceeds will be donated in Steve's name to one of his favorite charities, Best Friends Animal Society.... Vinci is a home and my family. Dear Berryessa Community, Our community today mourns the loss of a special friend, colleague and teacher, Steve Kato. Since 2007, Steve taught 4th and 5th grade...rs at Vinci Park Elementary. He did so with great passion, commitment and joy, and left a profound mark on our Berryessa community. He is fondly remembered by his colleagues for his larger than life personality, his kindness towards others, and his positivity. He was loved and cherished by his students. Since the news of Steve’s passing yesterday evening, many of his students, colleagues and friends are already working on ways to honor his life and legacy. We will be sharing more details with you in the coming days and weeks about these efforts. On behalf of the Berryessa Union School District, please join me in expressing our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones. Tonight was supposed to be our last raffle. BUT our fundraiser has been extended for another 5 days!!! That means for more days of opportunity to raise some more funds for our school!! You have done an amazing job in the past 24 hours!! We are now at $14,662!!! So close to our goal. We will save our last raffle for the new end date on Sunday 10/18/2020!!
