Our weekend movie is "Harriet", featuring Best Actress Oscar nominated performance by Cynthia Erivo. Showing in the Auditorium at 7:30PM on Saturday 2/22 and Sunday 2/23 at 1:30PM. 2019, Drama, 2 Hr., 6 Min., Rated PG-13.

Read up this weekend as Villa Marin book club is on Monday, 2/24. Our book this month is The Library Book by Susan Orlean. Please note the time change - 3:00PM in the card room.

Well, not really a "chicken dinner" but it is the "Villa Marin Lottery Dinner" this evening @ 4:45 p.m. Your dining partners will be chosen by drawing numbers from a hat. 6 people to a table. Sign up on the clip board at Reception. There are 40 spots and a waiting list. Please gather in the Main Lobby at 4:45 p.m. to check in and enjoy a complimentary glass of wine.

Up coming theater event this Saturday. We are off to see Gilbert & Sullivan’s "Princess Ida" at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. This production, presented by Lamplighters Music Theatre, was originally written as a satire on feminism, women’s education, and Darwinian evolution, Lamplighters’ own version modifies this slightly to reflect modern views. It's time to come celebrate - a little bit Scottish style! It is "Burn's Night" at Villa Marin. Starting with Scottish poetry, a bagpipe player and the traditional presenting of the Haggis ceremony. 4PM in the main lobby. To follow, our dining room will be serving the Haggis along with other Scottish cuisine; Scotch Broth Soup, Cullen Skink, Tatties, Neeps and Cranachan Sundaes.

First "Birthday Night" of the new year. Cocktails start at 5:00 p.m. in the main lobby with dinner @ 5:45p.m. in the dining room. January babies, come down and celebrate!

A morning reminder - Book Chat is this morning at 10:15 in the library. Come down and join your friends and neighbors as we discuss some of our favorite reads.

There is a change in the movie line-up on your monthly calendar. Due to a problem with equipment in the Auditorium last week, we will be showing "Maiden" this weekend (1/4 & 1/5).

A reminder that the jewelry repairman will be here Monday morning, January 6, at 9:30 a.m. in the Mail Room.

First Friday Mixer of a brand new year is here! Come down and celebrate the arrival of 2020 with your friends and neighbors. In the main lobby starting at 5:00PM

Join your neighbors this evening for a festive New Year celebration. We start with a special dinner service in the dining room (and the room looks smashing!). To follow dinner there is a party in the Auditorium as we say good-bye to 2019 and welcome 2020! (reservations are required for the dinner service. The party is open to all residents - no reservation required).
