Your new favorite morning stretch! I absolutely love this version of the TFL-quad stretch and if you suffer from IT band syndrome, anterior pelvic tilt issues or battle knee pain then I highly recommend this stretch and here is why: First, it targets the following big 3 hip flexors - TFL, rectus femoris and sartorius muscles. Second, it uses gravity which means you can spend your time focusing on tightening your lower abdominal muscles and keeping your pelvis nice and balance...d. Third, it is a comfortable stretch that can be held for 30 plus seconds. I recommend holding the stretch for at least 60 seconds. Discover how to combat your anterior pelvic tilt and knee pain with this great TFL-quad stretch. I love this stretch and do it each morning before exiting bed. Why this stretch rocks: First, it targets the following big 3 hip flexors- tensor fascia Lara (TFL), rectus femoris and sarorius muscles. These muscles attach at the front of the pelvis and contribute to pelvic and potential knee alignment issues. Second, it uses gravity which means you can spend your free time focusin...g on tightening your lower abdominal muscles and keeping your pelvis nice and balanced. Third, it is a comfortable stretch that can be held for 30 plus seconds. I recommend holding the stretch for at least 60 seconds. At this point your are likely aware that IT band syndrome is primarily caused by a weakness in your lateral gluteal muscles, which consist of your gluteus medius, gluteus minimus and TFL. However, I have personally found that everything starts with the hips. If you suffer from an anterior pelvic tilt or have knee pain then I highly recommend this TFL-quad stretch.
