All Veterans A Call To Arms The Sacramento Valley National Cemetery (SVNC) Volunteer Honor Guard is in need of Veterans to help provide rifle vollies and honors to all Veterans Brothers and Sisters that have passed away. As of right now the Department of Defense (DOD) policy is "Full Honors" will be provided to Veterans who served 20+ years. Veterans with less than 20 years will be afforded Flag folding, Taps and Rifle Vollies will be performed if t...he family requests them and there is a team on station. We believe that if you served your country you deserve the "Full Honors" and that is why we formed the SVNC Honor Guard and are on station. We have seen in the past years the "Full Honors" service has been deteriorating. Presently there are several branches of service who cannot even provide a rifle team for 20+ year Veterans and they call upon the SVNC Honor Guard to assist them. We are presently and have been providing this service for the past 10 years to the families of the fallen Veterans three to four days a week. We would like to expand to five to six days a week and are in need of volunteers to help. If you have 1 or more days per month free and wish to honor fellow Veterans , we would love to have you. We will provide the uniform and training. We primarily serve at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, but upon request we will travel out to surrounding cemeteries. We believe in family first and if you decide to help us in this endeavor we will work with you on your schedule. If you would like to help or have questions please contact Lu Pietrowski at 707-580-6920 or email [email protected]. We thank you for your service.
