Cynthia Robles, PrEP medication navigator at Venice Family Clinic, offers an important reminder ahead of #NationalHIVTestingDay on June 27: "Get tested. You can walk in; no appointment needed. Have conversations with me or any of the Clinic’s #HIV testers. And take advantage of the resources we have that are available to you. Let’s move forward in the HIV epidemic."
#MondayMotivation Did you know that men are more likely to develop skin cancer than women? With hot summer weather here, remember to protect yourself from harmful UV rays! Our dermatology specialists recommend using broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to prevent sunburn, aging and reduce the risk of skin cancer. Additionally, try to avoid the sun during peak hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and don't forget to use your hat and sunglasses! #MensHealthMonth

Observed yearly on June 19 to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States, #Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, or Jubilee Day, has now been recognized as a federal holiday. While we celebrate the hard fought progress made for racial justice, we know there is more work to do to end health inequities and the public health crisis of racism. We are committed to this fight. #BlackLivesMatter
#FlashbackFriday to this 1983 photo of Clinic founder Dr. Mayer Davidson when Venice Family Clinic opened its flagship facility on Rose Avenue. In the late 1960's, Dr. Davidson had an epiphany after reading an article about medical care for poor teens in Ohio and wondered if something similar could be done in Los Angeles. In 1970, he made that idea a reality with Dr. Philip Rossman when they began seeing patients in Venice, fulfilling his promise to bring high-quality medical care to those in need. #VeniceFamilyClinic
