The very best way to get the most from your VA Medical Care is to be active on "My HealthyVet". Log in or register at www.va.gov The quality of your VA Care depends greatly upon your participation & cooperation in your health treatment. That is not an official point of view; just one veteran to another. My HealtheVet will be unavailable Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 10:00 p.m. to Sunday, May 13, 2018, 1:00 a.m. ET for scheduled maintenance. Dennis~

I encourage all veterans to participate in their healthcare. This is what makes a flawed system work better. Unlike private healthcare, the VA Medical Staff does not have the time, nor the manpower to provide personal care, day after day, after day, for each veteran. I have tried to maintain a working relationship with my healthcare providers & to some degree, that has worked. I have since found that the frequent use of Myhealthyvet.com can add a tremendous advantage to V...A patients. In the past, I've used myhealthyvet.com to reorder prescriptions & that's been pretty much "it". Since moving into the Atlanta VA Medical System (I found worse than L.A.) I am just learning that our medical professionals have learned too. I've also found that the website also has improved. There are 2 major features that have become extremely useful to me. One is the "Blue Button". I remember this being in development for about 10 years. I used the Blue Button last night to access my entire medical history. There were a number of things in my complex history that I wasn't aware of before. There were conditions that were diagnosed & I was never informed. Learning about this is huge! Please take the time to access your records so that you can intelligently discuss your treatment with your provider. Another very cool feature that I've tried in the past without success, is "Secure Messaging". Don't be reluctant to ask your doctor or P.A. if they respond to Secure Messaging. Of course they'll say they do. What you want to know is WHEN & how often they check & respond to their patients. It may vary from one provider to another. In my case, my new doctor in Georgia said she checks & responds to Secure Messaging at the end of every day. I checked her out on that statement. Dr. Panova was right on target! Between visits, I asked questions & she immediate gave complete answers. This is great for Veterans! You can't get that kind of attention in the private sector. I hope this helps. Dennis See more

This is my cousin, Kendall Curran. She is a part of the Curran family who now reside all, over Southern California. Many of the Curran family are well-known in the Oxnard/Ventura area. This little girl's Great-Aunt is a teacher at Oxnard High School. Other cousins are legendary surfers in the area. Kendall needs prayers! She is clinging to life at only age two. Please join us.

My fellow Veterans: It remains to be seen if the indictment of Congresswoman Corrie Brown (Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs) will affect the current woes of Veteran's services. Brown has stepped down from her position pending the resolution of this matter. It's important to note that the indictment did not include any wrongdoings concerning Vetteran's Affairs. However, the charges do include creating a fake charitable organization in order to generate an illegal slush fund to accdomodate personal expenses & finance lavish political parties & vacations. We won't further indidct Brown in this media, out of fairness to Ms. Brown. Somebody must pick up the post for Veteran's Affairs & I am hopeful that it will have a positive impact on our situation.

This is amazing. Check out this rarely-seen video of a U.S. Navy SEAL extraction filmed from inside an MH-47 Chinook helicopter. The pilot has lowered the ramp..., dipped the tail end into the water to partially flood the compartment, (a maneuver that requires very precise flying) and awaits the Navy SEALs to board in their F-470 Zodiac. You have just got to love the skill of our military ... very few pilots would attempt this. It's too easy to lose lift, and ditch the whole chopper. See more

No matter how long ago you served, help is available. Do your part this #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth and support #USArmy Vietnam Veterans like Arthur, who had a ...hard time adjusting to civilian life until he connected with other Vietnam Vets. He spoke up. Will you share his story? http://maketheconnection.net/fb/story281
