Did you know that in 1933 The Verdi Club had a very popular soccer team? After just one session in the second division, the club’s team entered the San Francisco Football (Soccer) League’s first division and became one of the most publicized teams. The publicity received in newspapers made the 400-member club even more popular requiring a new, bigger location! In the next few months, after the opening of the new building, over 500 members joined. The soccer team became know...n as one of the best in California, winning many titles.
