Ventura Surf Lessons

It's a bittersweet feeling when a few weeks of surf lessons come to an end with a group of groms we've spent so much time with such as these. They've progressed and learned so much working with Brandon @lc_grom and I, to the point where the two oldest, Kien and Wiz (right and middle), are paddling themselves into their own waves. And Lachlan (youngest on left) went from being absolutely terrified of the ocean after having a bad experience with another lesson company to gradua...ting from tandem surfing and is now surfing a board on her own. Now, they've all got their own boards, wetsuits and booties and plan to start surfing on their own. We can't wait to see and party with you in the water, kids! SERIOUS AS A HEART ATTACK. We just added an AED to our medical kit that we keep on hand, and we ain't mad about it! Each year in the U.S., there are approximately 359,400 Emergency Medical Services (EMS)-assessed cardiac arrests outside of a hospital setting and on average, less than 10% of victims survive. Cardiac arrest affects people of all ages, but occurs more commonly in adults with prior heart disease. Immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and early defibri...llation, with an automated external defibrillator (AED), can more than double a victim’s chance of survival. In fact, early defibrillation, along with CPR, is the only way to restore the victim’s heart rhythm to normal in a lot of cases of cardiac arrest. For every minute that passes without CPR and defibrillation, however, the chances of survival decrease by 710%. In Sudden Cardiac Arrest Brain death occurs within 4-6 minutes of victim’s collapse. The necessary life-saving equipment and first aid does not arrive in time, typical survival rates are only 2%-5%. Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the leading cause of death in young athletes.
