Over this Super Bowl Weekend, we would like to encourage the community to stay safe as you watch and celebrate the game. If you plan to drink, the best option t...o avoid a DUI is to stay off the roads or have a family member be the designated driver. As well, we can all help to continue to move forward and avoid another surge in #COVID19 cases locally by limiting gatherings. We’re getting close to the end zone with COVID-19, let’s work together to move the ball forward and see things return to normal. #SuperBowl #SafetyFirst ...

There have been a number of instances recently in the city of Oxnard in which a woman or pair of women have contacted residents at their homes and offered to pe...rform spiritual cleansings of the homes, personal items and money. In several of these instances, victims have willingly given jewelry and large sums of money to these suspects, who ultimately have fled with the money and personal property. Because this property and money is given to the suspects freely, it becomes a civil matter and not a crime, so the police department’s ability to assist is very limited. Please do not allow these people to come into your homes and do not grant them access to your money or personal property. If these suspects contact you at your residence, please call the police immediately and provide a description and direction of travel.
