We know you’re so excited to go on some autumn nature walks with your dog, but for this #FallSafetyTip, make sure you watch out for snakes, some of which can be venomous! They’re preparing for hibernation and may be a little crankier if disturbed by a curious pet! When walking or hiking, if something happens to your pet, be sure to contact your veterinarian as soon as possible. #VCApets

Max and Rocky want to remind pet owners to keep their pets safe during the heat wave this week! Don't leave your pets in your car unattended, and try to create a cool spot within your house for them during the day. Brachycephalic (short nose) breeds, like these handsome fellas, are even more vulnerable to the heat stroke, so if you have a bulldog or other breed with a short nose be sure to keep a close eye on them. If you have any questions or concerns regarding heat stroke symptoms or prevention, please call us at 707-545-1622.

We are monitoring all of the fires across Northern California and hope everyone is staying safe. If you have been evacuated due to a fire and need assistance with boarding your pet, VCA Animal Hospitals in Northern California are offering free boarding. However, due to Covid 19, capacity may be limited and some hospitals may not be able to take in as many boarders as they would like. If you are in need, please call the specific location ahead of time to inquire about availability. Thank you.
