Every year at Thanksgiving, we think about canine pancreatitisremembering our GSP "George" who nearly died from a little bit of cooked turkey one fateful year.... From nausea to fatality, Pancreatitis, aka "Thanksgiving disease," happens frequently this time of year, all due to Thanksgiving table scraps. Even if your dog has always tolerated "a little gravy" on their kibble, this year their pancreas may no longer have the ability to process it. There's no knowing until it happens... and the symptoms aren't always obvious until the dog is quite ill. Even if you're a diligent mom or dad, your guests or kids may be the ones sneaking morsels to your pup under the table without you knowing. Multiply that across multiple guests, and it can add up to an emergency dog visit. Take a moment to share this list with friends, family, and anyone you know with a dog they love to spoil (pretty much all of us). :-) This year, spoil 'em with ear rubs, not turkey skin! :)
