We are excited to announce (drum roll please....) TILAPIA coming soon from our brand new aquaponics system here at the farm. Available now are the sustainably grown PEPPERS, SQUASH, CUCUMBERS, and GREEN BEANS also part of the system. Stay tuned for our announcement when the tilapia is officially available (sneak peak of Don's filet skills also!).

In addition to the Easter hams we mentioned in our previous post, we have our regular product list available, including: -- Kale, golden beets, and celery for farm fresh sides.. -- Eggs and micorgreens for delicious deviled eggs.. -- Apricot jam (with paleo-friendly xylitol!) for a sweet galze...... -- Gorgonzola or goat cheese for a delectable appetizer tray... The possibilities are endless!

This week get your EASTER HAMS from your local farmer! We raise the animals humanely and with organic, soy free feed, then Don the Farmer smokes them personally for your Easter feast. We have just 8 available for Saturday pick up, so don't delay. ($5/lb, each ham ranges 8-10 lbs). UPDATE: Orders must be in by the evening of Tuesday, 3/22 to allow plenty of time for processing and smoking. Thank you!

Stinging Nettles. These beautiful nettles aren't actually a weed put on earth to torment your garden -- they're a nutritional powerhouse! Easily substituted for spinach in any recipe, they lose their sting when cooked. Additionally, these nettles are a significant source of protein in your plant based diet. The farm has plenty to share, so include some in your weekly farm order!

Happy Tuesday, farm goers. New this week: the winter veggies are finally ready! BROCCOLI, CELERY (it's huge!(, BEETS, and KALE will be cut fresh from the garden for you when you arrive. Order soon!

Beet stalk smoothie.... It's brilliant (and not just in color). When you buy beets from our farm, we aren't stingy -- you get the whole plant from leaf to root. It's entirely edible, nutritious, and delicious and we just can't bear to throw any of it away. For this smoothie, we highlighted the beautiful red beet stalks by throwing them into the Vitamix with just a few strawberries and raspberries, an overly ripe banana, and a splash of Suja's Vibrant Probiotic drink (quick shout out to our fellow San Diego organic food supplier!). So next time you get beets -- demand the whole plant and you can enjoy this beautiful smoothie too!

Microgreens. Sprouted and ready to grace your plate with nutrition, flavor, and maybe a bit of trendiness. A fresh favorite around here, we love to use these in salads of all kinds (particularly tuna salad since their crunch is s beautiful substitution for celery).

New this week -- PICKLES! Freshly made on the farm, order your favorite variety: Sweet or Dill. We also have BROCCOLI LEAVES available for an extra punch of nutrition in your smoothies, stir fries, sautees (as in with garlic and adding to mashed potatoes --yum!), or you can make your own broccoli leaf chips. Lastly, we have APRICOT JAM in stock for your morning toast or a healthy (xylitol sweetened) addition to your kids' PB&J sandwiches. Happy New Year, farm goers! We are open January 4th and will gladly be collecting and fulfilling orders first thing in the morning. New this year: we've reduced the size of our hams to 8-10 lbs per customer request, and added turkeys back to the product list. Hope your Christmas and New Years were delightful -- and full of good food!

The holiday hams are officially on our Product List this week! Don processes and smokes all the meat personally, so we must receive your order by this Friday to guarantee delivery before Christmas. All other grocery orders will still gladly be filled after that :) Thank you for your support!
