VABANC invites you to join our Mentorship Family Program! Each mentorship family or circle will comprise of 2 law students as well as an entry-level and more seasoned attorney. We hope to have our mentorship families learn from one another and build connections and friendships within the Vietnamese-American legal community. We need attorneys from all different areas of law to mentor law students from all over the Bay Areafrom UC Davis, UC Hastings, UC Berkeley, Santa Cla...ra Law, and more. With COVID-19, our law students are having a more difficult time networking and meeting attorneys. With a few hours of time and investment, you can contribute to the students’ professional development and to the future of the Vietnamese-American legal community. Plus, it will be fun! Calling all students and attorneys: Please join VABANC on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020, at 12pm for our first-ever virtual Mock Interview Workshop! Our event will start with a panel discussion with VABANC members representing a broad spectrum of legal professions, including BigLaw, In-House, Government, Nonprofit, and Clerkships. We will then have one-on-one breakout sessions for attorneys to conduct mock interviews with students and provide feedback on their interview and res...ume. For students, this will be a great chance to network with VABANC attorneys and get feedback before you apply to jobs. For attorneys, we hope you will join us to help foster the next generation of young attorneys, and we need as many volunteers as possible! We loved seeing familiar and new faces at yesterday's Fall (Zoom) Social! Thank you to the 25 VABANC members and soon-to-be members who came and made the event a huge success. (Not all pictured--we were having so much fun we forgot to take a group photo until after some folks had left.)
