US Rugby Foundation is offering grants to eligible applicants to take part in the Crusaders Online Coaching Academy, July 1st - July 9th. US Rugby Class of 2021 Hall of Fame and special award recipient spotlight. On behalf of the United States Rugby Foundation, it is our honor to announce the US Rugby Class of 2021 Hall of Fame and special award recipients. Let’s celebrate those that have played a major role in developing the sport of rugby in the United States. The tenth of ten inductees and today’s spotlight on our Lifetime Achievement Award is BOB HODER (1940-2018)... Bob Hoder was a visionary and fierce advocate for the promotion of rugby in the United States. His grassroots approach had a tremendous impact on how the game developed at the youth, collegiate, club, and professional levels in America. He turned his passion for rugby into a business by founding Rugby Imports in 1971. After noticing a lack in the availability of rugby kits, he began importing Halbro rugby jerseys and the rest is history. Rugby Imports would grow to become a powerhouse rugby supplier and a leader in coaching education and resources. The US Rugby Foundation recently provided 4 youth referee grants through the Shanagher-Morrison Fund to go to the North America Youth Rugby Referee Program. This program was created to give opportunities for developing youth referees to travel to tournaments around North America and work with local and National referee coaches.
