Shogun wants to go play in the snow .. so we tested our conditioning and discovered we really are used to CA winters! New experience being in a Nor-Easter. Brrr .. We did have our 1st snowball fight.. not enough for a snowman yet.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the incredible blessing of living in a God Blessed America! Enjoy some moments we've experienced here on the East Coast .. in between Zoom Room training sessions. Looking to see on Thursday that all students are reviewing the 8 Self-Defense Positions, as well as using your knowledge thus far to create a different self defense (at least 3 moves) for the first 4 Positions.

Good advice .. Black Bar requirement for Intm/Adv students training in the remote Zoom Room is the 8 Self-Defense Positions with 3 block/counter moves for each. Practice Practice Practice

This week's focus was "Move it Move it Move it.. You Got to Move it!" So good to see all of you in class (even though it was from 3000 miles away ). GREAT 1ST WEEK STUDENTS! Shihan and I have traveled over 3000 miles to our new temporary home and there have been moments that did take our breath away. We passed through a thunder storm with lightning and are praying for our many friends and family that are experiencing terrible wildfires in California. The SIP recommendation is still a good idea with the air quality there. ** Last week's focus for warm up sessions was WATER. This week the focus is AIR. Think it will be good to focus on balance an...d technique. So, after you do your warm ups on Tue and Thur find a good place to practice doing your kicks slowly and with focus. Do each kick at least 10x with both legs. Doing techniques slowly requires good balance and strength. Focus on having proper technique too. When you have a workout you can be proud of, put your feet up, drink a big glass of water and say to yourself, "Well Done!" See more

Almost to San Antonio.. to introduce Shogun to our property in the beautiful hill country of Texas. Sent out an email to all of our continuing remote Zoom Room students. Need to hear back from you Tue Aug 18th was to be 1st class.. would like you all to do your katas barefoot in the grass wearing your summer uniforms! Try to workout at least 20 min and let us know on FB how different it is being barefoot! Then on Thur Aug 20th we suggest if you have access to a pool, do your katas in the pool!! If you don't, try staying focused as your parents hose you down Make it a fun way to stay cool and practice too!

Still trying to find the best way to say Thank You.. It's been Good, and now we must say Good Bye. USKS is only here in Concord for one more week. We have 35 years of treasures (one man's trash is another's treasure!) that is available for practically nothing. I will be at Dojo this Sunday July 26th from 10 am to 2 pm for safe socially distant shopping. Facemasks requested .. please let anyone know who will not want to miss this going away sale!

In these final distance learning sessions in the USKS ZOOM ROOM, Shihan and I are reflecting upon the 33 years of serving this community. We are grateful for the loyalty, support and prayers of hundreds and hundreds of families we have been privileged to know. There have been challenges throughout the years, but a faith that is not tested, is a faith that can't be trusted. May God Bless and Keep you, May He Shine His Face Upon you and give you Peace.
