Yesterday, we said goodbye to our Horse Patrol’s Service Mount Seamus, a 19 year old American Quarter Horse who faithfully served the men and women of US Border Patrol for over 15 years. Seamus participated in many public events such as parades, open houses, bring your child to work day, Red Ribbon Week and the San Diego Law Enforcement Officer Memorial. He was a very athletic horse and was utilized as an instructor horse. Somewhere . . . in time's own space, there must be some sweet, pastured place Where creeks sing on - and tall trees grow, some paradise where horses go, For by the love that guides my pen, I know great horses live again. We are proud to have agents assigned to assist in securing our Nation’s capital for the 2021 Presidential Inauguration. For nearly 100 years, Border Patrol agents have served during significant events. Honor First. Full Release:... U.S. Customs and Border Protection helps to secure our Nation’s 59th Presidential Inauguration Release Date: January 14, 2021 WASHINGTON U.S. Customs and Border Protection is participating in the U.S. Secret Service-led security operations in preparation and support of the 59th Presidential Inauguration. CBP routinely contributes its unique capabilities during National Special Security Events (NSSEs), manmade and natural disasters, and other large spectator or high threat events. One such capability is CBP’s Air and Marine Operations’ aircraft-based, downlink video streaming. This capability provides leadership on the ground a real time common operating picture of conditions within a security zone. Downlink also provides a real time damage assessment of impact areas that assist states in prioritizing response areas during disasters. Another unique CBP capability is CBP’s Office of Field Operations’ mobile non-intrusive inspection technology. CBP can quickly scan vehicles and packages to identify potential threats before those threats can enter a security zone. CBP is also contributing Air and Marine aircraft and small-boat crews to augment airspace and maritime security operations, as well as contributing Border Patrol agents and Field Operations officers to supplement U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Capitol Police security details. . . . #HonorFirst #BorderPatrol #USBP #CBP #DHS #bordersecurity #LawEnforcement #police #policeofficer #thinblueline #uniform #badge #backthebadge #cops #inaguration #inauguration2021 #WashingtonDC #USCapital #washingtonmonument

Monday, a panga landed in Encinitas & 13 individuals quickly made their way into the community. #BorderPatrol agents & partners arrested all 13 people, the smugglers, meth, & a ghost-gun. Criminals involved in human smuggling also traffic in drugs & firearms. Don’t forget that when these events occur in our communities, the smugglers that make landings on local beaches & disappear into our neighborhood are dangerous. If you see something, say something.

This message goes out to current and former agents. As our future Border Patrol agents prepare to graduate from the USBP Academy, they participate in a short run with the academy Chief and other members of his staff. At the end of this run, they receive their first Border Patrol patch. It is a patch that has been signed with a name, a class number, and maybe even a short message. These patches come from agents such as yourselves. It has become one of USBP’s newer tradition...s and has significant meaning to those who recently underwent the rigors of academy life. Please consider participating in this tradition. You simply take a USBP patch you no longer wear, sign your name and class number. Send your patches to: U.S. Border Patrol Academy Communications Division USBP Warehouse 94 Gunpowder Road Artesia, NM 88210

45 years ago, Christine Davis hit a career ceiling as a police dispatcher and challenged herself by applying to the U.S. Border Patrol. She and the other women in her academy class had no idea they’d make history as the first female agents of the Patrol: the trailblazers of the #FierceFive. - Since 1975, the Border Patrol has consistently strived to create a diverse workforce by actively recruiting qualified female applicants to join the agency and protect the borders of our ...great Nation. - Today, around 5% of the Border Patrol’s uniformed agents are women. Help us grow that number. - Apply today at CBP.GOV/CAREERS/BPA. Yesterday, #BorderPatrol agents seized 13 lbs. of #fentanyl at the I-8 checkpoint. Enough to kill nearly 3 million people. Smugglers have no regard for human life. Profit is all that matters to them. #USBP values life, smugglers don’t. San Diego Sector has seized approximately 138 pounds of fentanyl since October 1, 2019.

Since the early 1900’s, mounted watchmen of the U.S. Immigration Service and U.S. Border Patrol patrolled the border on horseback in an effort to prevent illegal crossings. This week, two horses from the U.S. Border Patrol San Diego Sector (SDC) Horse Patrol Unit (HPU) retired and are off to their #ForeverHome at the Horses of Tir Na Nog Sanctuary, @horsesoftirnanog , where they will enjoy a wonderful retirement as Ambassadors for the sanctuary while surrounded by other ha...ppy horses. Both horses, Bubba and Todd, have been vital members of the HPU since 2009, and during this time they have upheld the highest standards of performance while providing companionship to our agents that are tasked with carrying out our evolving mission to keep America’s border secure. Bubba and Todd have earned their well-deserved rest and retirement. On behalf of your U.S. Border Patrol Family, thank You for your many years of dedication and service to your country.
