Advancements in windshield glass led to the invention of toughened glass, which was fitted with a neoprene seal or rubber within a frame. This glass would shatter into harmless fragments, but they were too brittle and could shatter from a simple stone chip.

The glass windshields we know today were first used in 1905 when safety glass was invented. This special type of glass goes through a tempering process to make it more durable and resistant to shattering.

Following a windshield replacement, you do not need to be concerned about water getting on the windshield. In fact, if it does rain, the moisture will actually help the curing process of the urethane sealant.

For vehicles whose rear-view mirror is attached to the windshield, we will replace it on the new windshield following installation. If your windows have been tinted, please let us know when you call, so we can bring the right tools.
