Office Announcement Regarding COVID-19 To our patients, class members, family and friends: Gabriela and I have made the decision to be good global citizens and set a good example to do our part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ‘flatten the curve’. We will follow the recommendations of the CDC and other reputable health care organizations, and temporarily close Underwood Sports Medicine Chiropractic & Acupuncture from March 16 through March 29 (unless conditions c...hange as notified by the CDC) for all non-emergency care. This is not a decision we take lightly as our goal has always been to provide the highest quality health care for our patients. We fully recognize the benefits of our treatment in alleviating pain, restoring function and alleviating systemic stress, all of which are beneficial to the immune system. However, our highest priority is to protect the health of our patients, family and friends and we feel strongly that we can best do this at this time by not potentially contributing to the spread of the virus. If you have any questions or would like further information, please call or email. We strongly recommend that you continue to consistently do your stretching protocols and strengthening and conditioning exercises, stay very well hydrated, and get plenty of sleep and good nutrition. We also recommend fresh air and appropriate sunlight. For those of you who are our patients, you know that our health-care model has always been to teach our patients how to care for themselves. We will continue to do that and will be available for phone or online consultations, to answer questions, or to provide health care recommendations consistent with our scope of practice. For your information, for the rare emergency case, we have implemented the following treatment safety protocols in our practice: -We won’t treat anyone who has any symptoms consistent with COVID-19, the flu, or common cold including but not limited to fever, cough, congestion, systemic body aches, etc., or those who have recently had such symptoms or who have been exposed to others with such symptoms. - We will only allow one patient at a time in our office. We ask that the patient wear a disposable mask, use our hand sanitizer, and have their temperature taken prior to any treatment. We ask that they use our hand sanitizer after treatment as well. -As health care providers, we continue to wash our hands thoroughly before and after treatment, and we wear an N95 respirator mask during patient care. We thoroughly sanitize treatment tables, door handles, counter tops, and any other surface a patient may touch between each treatment session with Clorox Health Care sanitizing wipes.
