We ran into an old friend on one of our dives the other day! This giant manta that swam by Anna, Bilardo, and Lidia was last seen by Anna and Nakia in Zavora, M...ozambique in November 2017. The way we know this is by checking the spot patterns on their bellies against the Manta Matcher database. This lets us know if we've encountered a new one or if we had a reunion with a previous acquaintance. He was very friendly and circled the group the whole time. We also saw three whale sharks in the surface interval and another giant manta on a second dive. Marine life is back in full force in Tofo! Anna Flam
NEW PART alert! We just added our new AC-CSLXL 6 clamp to our lineup. Talk about cool! It’s 2 longer than our AC-CSL and so much more versatile.
In this video, Ken explains the difference between the Cardellini clamps that Ultralight Control Systems carries and some different ways to use them. The Cardellini clamps are made out of cast aluminum and stainless steel so using them in harsh environments is not a problem. ULCS carries the MC, MMC, SMC, and SMMC clamps. When using a ULCS BA-HB or AD-3816 ball adapter, you can then attach anything with a 1" ball to the clamp. https://youtu.be/weWQUTo8VUc

In this video, Ken explains the different tripods and tripod accessories Ultralight Control Systems offers. For years we offered our tilt and pan tripod, with extendable legs (TRI-LEG) along with our AC-TRI clamp that's used to make a tripod using any arms that have 1" balls on them. In Nov. 2020 we added to our tripod line up with our "NEW" TRI-TRAY, BA-MT, and BA-TT ball adapters. Our new tripod tray is so versatile it will fit almost any camera or housing for either still photography or video. Watch the video and check it out! https://youtu.be/SGMaYrWDQ7Y
Just added another new part to our cine lineup. We redesigned our BA-DB with a single 3/8-16 bolt and ARRI locating pins. Use it with our BA-DT or BA-AD as an excellent Cinelock or Kondor Blue replacement. You can find it on our cine base adapter page-https://ulcs.com/cine-base-adapters/
Looking for a few people to test something out for me and give me some feedback. I am looking for someone who has a heavy monitor or very large and heavy strobes that are attached to one or two arms that have a hard time staying in place above or below the surface. I have been working on a new clamp handle for one of our clamps. Currently, I have it where it can hold twice what it used to which is 5lbs straight out at a distance of 24" inches and using 2 clamps. Please PM if interested.
Ultralight Control Systems Inc. has a number of NEW camera lanyard parts and we followed that up with a new video https://youtu.be/TIQ3dy1QtU0 and an updated website page-https://ulcs.com/accessory-camera-lanyard/ In the video, Ken explains the different lanyard parts we offer at Ultralight Control Systems Inc. All the parts mentioned are on our "Lanyard Parts" website page. We now offer 3 different stainless lanyard mounts (AC-LH2, AC-LHC2 & AC-LHH2) and mounting options along with 2 sizes for camera lanyards (AC-LY20 & AC-LY24) plus our NEW camera/equipment lanyard the AC-LYC. The new camera/equipment lanyard is something Ken's been working on the past couple of years and specifically made with cold water divers in mind who use dry gloves and thick gloves making most lanyards hard to use.
We are having a HOLIDAY SALE at Ultralight and offering a 10% discount on all our products, including all the NEW cool parts we have just come out with. The sale runs till the end of Friday 12/4 and we are honoring the discount through ALL our current dealers. If you have a hard time finding what you would like through a ULCS dealer you can order directly through us at this link-https://ulcs.com/contact-us/
More good news for our underwater camera crowd and just in time for the holidays. Ultralight now has 3 different stainless lanyard holders plus 2 sizes in lanyards all in 316 stainless. We also have a NEW one of a kind camera quick disconnect lanyard that you will not find anyplace else. The reason for that is Ken designed and field tested it himself over the last couple years. The camera quick disconnect is designed with cold water diving in mind while wearing dry gloves. The split ring, coiled cable and stage bottle bolt snap are all 316 stainless. The coiled cable is shorter than most and secured by aluminum crimps. It was designed so that even if the buckle failed it would still stay connected to you. You can see all the parts with retail pricing on our website at this page-https://ulcs.com/accessory-camera-lanyard/
Just added another page to our website for our cine customers. It is the Cine Arm Kit page showing 6 different cine arm kits and the exact parts with links to find them easily on our website. https://ulcs.com/cine-arm-kits/
Making some changes to the ULCS website to make it easier for some of our customers to figure out what they need and just added these two clamps for our cine customers. Not only do we have them with cutouts on just the bottom but now we have them on both the top and bottom making them even more versatile. More good things to come!
For all our cine customers out there. Guess what? Some of you asked about colored Ultralight parts and now we have some. We had blue, red and green clamp T-Knobs and have just added pink, purple and yellow T-knobs. While I was at it I had red, blue and yellow AD-1420 and BA-HB base adapters made as well. Check them out on our Ultralight Control Systems Inc. website www.ulcs.com under the clamp and base adapter pages.
I am looking to buy a larger Sea & Sea and Nauticam housing with handles to use for part testing purposes only. I don't care if it leaks, is obsolete, scratched up or a brick on the shelf. If it is something you want to get rid of please message me.
EXTRA, EXTRA new things are coming! Lot's of exciting things happening here at ULCS and we will have some announcements very soon. Should be later this week!
Been in Monterey for a long weekend and visited our largest underwater dealer, Backscatter on Friday afternoon. There open and can take care of anything camera related so when you are in town stop by and check them out. They are located at the end of Cannery row near the parking for the breakwall.
Another Ultralight Control Systems Inc video. This one is on our camera trays and tray extensions along with some things to consider when purchasing one. We have 5 camera trays and 3 tray extensions to add an extra handle and here we explain which ones might work better for the different camera housings and why. https://youtu.be/4SpEtTaAoaM
Hooray! Our friend from @popflashphoto stopped by to visit us today. Great meeting of the minds and wheels were spinning! Hope y’all are having a great day too
Introducing... our brand spankin’ new colored knobs especially for our cine folks! Ken has been meeting with and listening to the needs of camera assistants and operators and they all asked for colored parts. Purple, yellow and pink were the most requested and so we proudly offer t-knobs in these new colors!
Check this out! Something completely new for ULCS for customers needing to keep track of things. This is our first shipment to Bristol Cameras, our new UK dealer.
Yesterday, I headed down south to meet some new friends at a studio in Glendale. What a great learning experience it was talking to Jay and Tiffany about the use of ULCS products in the cinemetography industry. Got some great ideas and I can see some new things happening soon for Ultralight Control Systems. Sorry no pictures. I was excited and knew I forgot something afterwards.
The video is on the differences of the clamps that we make at Ultralight Control Systems Inc. We also show some different uses for them as well.
Made another trip down south yesterday to two more of our ULCS underwater dealers. The first stop was Hollywood Divers where I was able to talk with Hal a bit to see how we can help each other in these new times we are facing. Got some great info and it was a very productive chat. I haven't been to Hollywood Divers for a long time but sure can see why they are very popular. I was like a kid in a candy store. They have a huge selection of cool stuff! The next stop on the way h...ome was with my friends at PCH Scuba. They are one of our newer ULCS dealers and they would like to broaden their inventory with ULCS products. They have been very busy with classes so we didn't have lots of time to chat but we are going to get together soon and do a little update on our products. Time for a break in the travels. In a couple weeks I will start seeing all our local cinematography dealers of which we have quite a few in the SoCal area. Hollywood Divers Hollywood Divers PCH Scuba
