You may have heard or read that some businesses in California can open with modifications beginning this Friday. This mostly applies to retail stores that can offer curbside pickup. This is the second phase of the four-stage plan to reopen California that the Governor announced last week. However, this does not completely apply include businesses that operate in offices in an edifice, in which both of our campuses are located. We’ll have to continue delivering our classes online but it does appear that we may be nearing some form of ground school operation. There is some language in this phase that might allow us to open our labs. We need to explore this idea in more detail before we can make an announcement. Please be mindful that return to campus with modifications announcement may be of short notice. Besides announcements from the Governor’s office, the Mayor may also have to sign off before any plans to reopen Los Angeles. This is an added layer that we also will explore. We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you abreast of the situation. But please make sure you have read, if you haven’t already, our April nineteenth memo that outlines possible outcomes. RE: Los Angeles County extends Safer-at-Home The Los Angeles County Department of Health has extended the Safer-at-Home to May 15. Moreover, the Department also requires face coverings in public starting April 15. I want to remind you our online classes will continue until May 15 or longer if restrictions are extended by either the county or the governor.
