UFCW Local 1428 was able to do a small part in our motto of Building Better Communities. Today we were able to help the Pomona Community Foundation in support of the unaccompanied immigrant children at the Fairplex Emergency Intake Site, as they get reunited with their families to begin healing. Currently there are over 600 children waiting reunification. We were able to take in donations such as books, back bags, balls that we collected from staff and the community. If you want to help don't hesitate to reach out and we will put you in touch with the contact person.

CVS Workers have been on the frontlines of the Covid pandemic for over a year, making sure our stores are open, safe, and well-stocked for our customers and the...ir families. Because we stand together as a union, we are able to negotiate a contract for better staffing and hours to continue providing the best service to our customers. Stand with us today by liking and following this page! #CVSWorkersStandTogether

UFCW Local 1428 Representatives Phillip Meza, Jason Chung and Kory Singh joined forces and spent Late Thursday Night into Friday Morning visiting Food 4 Less Night Crew Workers. During their visits they discussed upcoming contract negotiations and had surveys filled out or got commitments to fill out surveys of what’s most important to OUR MEMBERS for the New Contract. Workers are confident a Fair Contract can be achieved if WE all stick together in TRUE UNION SOLIDARITY!!! Workers at Food 4 Less shouldn’t have to Work 4 Less!!!

We acknowledge October 29th this year as Latina Equal Pay Day. This is the day when the average Latina finally catches up to what the average white, non-Hispani...c man earned in just 2019 alone. Because Latinas are paid only 55 cents on average for every dollar paid to white non-Hispanic men, this means Latinas must work a total of 22 months to earn what white men earned in just 12. Over a Latina’s 40-year career, this amounts to over one million dollars of lost income. The wage gap experienced by Latina workers persists across occupations, and exists at every level of education between Latinas and white, non-Hispanic men. Together we must close the wage gap for all Women! #LatinaEqualPay #Trabajadoras #OwnYourPower2020 #LatinaEqualPayDay

Here’s another creation by OUR UFCW Local 1428 Member David Dugan from Stater Bros. #85 in Ontario. These Greedy Billion Dollar Companies such as Uber, Lyft and Instacart do not want to recognize the ones who earn their money for them as employees and instead keep them classified as independent contractors. If Prop. 22 passes it could open the door for a new way of hiring in our companies that we represent and could affect the future of how all workers are treated. Please don’t fall for those phony commercials you all have most likely been seeing urging support of this proposition. It is nothing but smooth double talk. Please Vote No on Prop 22!!!

UFCW Local 1428 09.08.2020

Please join UFCW 1428 this Saturday @ 9am for a rally with elected officials. We will practice social distancing to keep everyone safe. Come make a difference this election!

Pomona voters we urge you to support Measure PO. This cannabis ordinance will create hundreds of good union jobs in Pomona. There are two cannabis measures on the ballot in Pomona. One Measure PM is being promoted by anti union operators who not to long ago were operating illegal shops and exploiting workers in our communities. Measure PO was crafted after many community meetings and input from Local 1428. Measure PO puts Pomona workers first by requiring operators to hi...re a minimum of 30% of its workforce from Pomona while the competing measure does not. So on Nov 3rd let’s put Pomona first and Vote Yes on PO! See more

UFCW Local 1428 31.07.2020

Vote NO on Prop 22 and protect grocery workers jobs by not allowing App companies such as Instacart & DoorDash to undermine good union jobs. These companies get away with misclassifying and exploiting workers for their own profit. By voting No on Prop 22, Instacart and DoorDash will finally be required to follow the law by paying their workers a fair wage and providing the basic protections they deserve like healthcare, paid sick leave and unemployment benefits.
