We saved the best for last. Senior duo Chase Tarr and Astrid Rosvall will be competing at this week's NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the newly renovated Historic Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon! Full broadcasting information and meet schedule is linked in our write up below!
ANOTHER NATIONAL QUALIFIER Senior Astrid Rosvall makes it through the quarterfinals of the women’s 800m on the final day of the west regional preliminaries and breaks her own school record in the process. Congratulations!
A tough but well earned experience for junior Graham Michiels as he finally concludes the 2021 track and field season on day three of the NCAA West Regional Preliminaries! Competing at the regional level for the first time, Michiels finishes the season with a fourth place finish at the Big West Conference Championships along with a 2.10m/6' 10.75" personal best that places him ninth on the UCSB All-Time Performance List.
Seniors Katie Camarena and Astrid Rosvall made it through their first rounds heats of the 1500m and 800m respectively and will be set to compete once more Saturday with a chance to qualify for the national championships in Eugene, Oregon!
Eugene here we come!
Sometimes it can be difficult to express gratitude towards the educators in our lives in the fast paced environment of higher education, especially now more than ever. Earning 22 total 4.0 GPAs last spring quarter, track and field at UC Santa Barbara was able to average 3.69 on the women’s side and 3.456 on the men’s side, successfully committing to the cumulative team goal of a 3.25 GPA cited by Cross Country and Track and Field Director Cody Fleming going into the 2019-2020 calendar year. A few of these athletes were more than grateful to share some of the key professors they have come across so far during their time at UCSB to express thanks and appreciation for how they’ve been a part of their academic success.
Check out this article written by the Big West Conference about one of our very own, redshirt freshman Ethan George, and his aptitude for music!
Feels good to be back.
