UC Santa Barbara is hosting the first-annual official broadcast journalism weekend this winter, titled The NewsRoom. The event is hosted and directed by UCSB students, and sponsored by the Film & Media Department. Due to the exponential increase of undergraduate interest in print and broadcast journalism, The NewsRoom provides an opportunity for students to learn about the field, while networking with media professionals. The purpose of The NewsRoom is to introduce passion...ate and qualified students to the world of broadcast media. We invite journalism experts to host workshops, lectures, or classes in a topic of their choice. Guests include TV Broadcast Journalists, Multi-Media Journalists, Print Journalists, Producers, Reporters, and Talent Managers among many others. The event will be held from Friday, February 28 to Sunday, March 2. T-shirts and food will be provided.
